He has has no sin shall cast the 1st stone.
I have met many christains who are so busy looking down thier nose at others, they shun the very people they should be helping. This turns me off and turns me away from church and organized religion for the most part.
I prefer spirituality, its YOUR relationship with God that matters most. Not how many people you can point your finger at and call a sinner

OTHER ABOMINATIONS IN THE BIBLE:
Eating shellfish.(Leviticus 11:10), (Leviticus 11:11) AND (Leviticus 11:12) Eating pork. (Leviticus 11:7)
Adultery (Lev 18:20), Remarrying one's wife after she's had another husband in between (Deut 24:4) Having sex with a woman while she’s on her period (Lev 18:19) Trimming one's beard (Lev 19:26-28) Taking out a loan, or giving a loan and charging interest. (Psalms 15-1-5) Wearing a material made of wool and linen, (Deuteronomy 22:11) Wearing any blended material, period. (Leviticus 19:19)
Of course, when something THEY do is shown to be an abomination, many abominators (who quote the Bible to condemn others) will claim that that’s not what the Bible MEANT. (So now the Bible is suddenly open for re-interpretation--and of course, it'll always be in THEIR favor.) Fundamentalists change their entire methodology of scriptural interpretation when it suits their purpose, even when dealing with verses that are a just couple of sentences away from each other! Remember, this isn't about faith whatsoever. It's about people who have pre-existing anti-gay prejudice in their hearts. They selectively quote the Christian Bible to attempt to affirm and legitimize that pre-existing prejudice. You don't see the same people condemning those who eat shrimp cocktail, do you? And that's named as an abomination THREE times—in the SAME book of the Bible!

as nicely to the different posters: The previous testomony, The Septuagint [translated from Hebrew to Greek someplace 250 BC] became in located at that element, used even in the past Jesus' time. the recent testomony became written 35-a hundred advert and translated to latin by using St Jerome, each so often 4 hundred advert. it continues to be on parchments and examine interior the church, or preached orally. So, there is not any NEW TESTAMENTS IN A e book/BIBLE sort at that element compiled with Septuagint.' Bible on my own' thought isn't in existence at that element as there is not any e book to call bible. It became using Oral custom up till 1400 whilst the 'compiled e book sort bible' ultimately hit the printing press. In different words, it took the Catholic Church approximately 4 hundred years of gathering, enhancing, and sorting the classic manuscripts and have been given revealed in 1400. there have been additionally a very good kind of uninspired writings [apocryphal books] that have been floating around that weren't cannonized.

How obsurd for a PASTOR to be saying that homosexuals are the enemy... especially in the light of all those catholic priests who have admitted to homosexual acts with little BOYS... If a church needs to promote hatred to get people to give them money, it isn't much of a church IS IT???? Oh and tell me something----has this pastor taken those "offerings" and given them to any group or person who HAS fought against gays??? Not, he is using HIS power to falsely acquire money from his congregation---BESIDES, going after a group just for the sake of "going after them" is WRONG... People shouldn't care if someone is homosexual---if they aren't trying to inpose their lifestyle into YOURS, then leave them the hell alone..... everyone has the RIGHT (at least in AMERICA) to live their life the way they want as long as what they are doing is LEGAL.....nowhere in this country is Homosexuality ILLEGAL ... Gays have just as much right to be gay as the rest of us have the right to be STRAIGHT---how the hell would YOU like it if someone came to YOU and said you were a horrible person because you were a blonde or a brunette... the biggest problem in the world today (other then GREED) is prejudice!!! If someone is gay, don't hate them because they are gay---they need understanding and acceptance ---just like anyone else...... oh and I was a child of the 60's and I don't remember ANY churches back then rallying around a fight for communism--that was left to our GOVERNMENT....(and one Senator Joseph McCarthy who decided everyone in hollywood at the time was a communist)...

Sorry. "Church" means "the called out". These so-called churches that are only interested in money, are not called out of anything. They are just as worldly as the next sinner.
Homosexuality is as much of a sin as murder. But whole cities, with their populations were destroyed because of the sin of homosexuality. There was never such mass punishment for any other sin. The TRUE church's common bond is the blood of Jesus to the saving of souls. Money is only a small tool and of little importance except to be able to carry the message of salvation to remote regions and to be able to help those in need of help. Also, unless the place is ridiculously large, it takes very little a month in utilities. You see, the TRUE Church of Christ does not believe in entertaining the masses. We only teach the truth and worship and praise God. So we don't need a huge auditorium, or gymnasium, or what ever else silliness goes on in these "SO-CALLED" churches. God does not recognize them nor except anything they would pretend to offer to Him. He's not impressed.

Well true Christians know that supporting ANY political agenda is not right. As such no true Christian would be determined to fight communism in the first place.
You are right it is easier to fight a common enemy. The only true adversary is Satan. Humans are just that Human. True some choose to be rude, etc. But often they decide to live/act a certain way or to harbor illwill towards others based on misinformation.

Well for one reason, we don't have murderers and thief's trying to get their "lifestyle" classified as normal and acceptable. Right now homosexuality is being pushed into our homes, our schools and our churches. So, yes, we need to stand against it.
At the same time it is not "gays" that we are fighting...but the idea that we can justify sin and make it okay. Sin cannot be justified...no sin can be. The church continues to fight against pornography...which is also a sin but accepted by society.

The Church fights all attacks against the dignity of humanity and that which endangers the soul. That is the responsibility of the church.
Homosexuality is a sin...it is one of the 4 sins that "cry to heaven for vengence" this means it is at a more dangerous level. It is a sin against God, against nature, against the union of a man and woman, against procreation.
Our life here is not about being as comfortable as possible. Jesus says "you are in the world but not of it." We are called away from the things of the world, away from sin and called into the heart of Jesus.

It is very insulting, including to Christians.
Homosexuals are NOT the enemy. Jesus would show them love, compassion and mercy, not hatred.
We may feel that homosexuality is a sin, but we are not to hate the sinner. We're supposed to love everyone. It doesn't sound like the person who made those remarks understands the grace of God.

In the late fifties they also rallied around fighting desegregation, at least in the south.
It's just using religion as a cover for hatred and prejudice.
I notice they make little of people who get divorced (for reasons other than infidelity) and remarry. In the bible this is adultery, because the reason for divorce wasn't valid.
I suspect it would hit too close to home for some preachers and church members.

I brought this question up once. You look at Jesus who was living in the height of the Roman empire. Homosexuality was EVERYWHERE! And not just private and genuine love between men and men or women and women but there was also public gay prostitution as part of pagan rites and sex orgies. If fighting homosexuals were so pertinent to Christianity, you would think Jesus would have mentioned it AT LEAST ONCE when he was alive on earth. But he had absolutely NOTHING to say on the subject, even though he was living in a Roman society where it must have been everywhere. Today you have Christians living OUTSIDE of where most gay people have the largest populations and it seems to be ALL they are obsessed about when there are far more important things that ACTUALLY endanger society to be worried about for example:
GLUTTONY & SLOTH- It’s the chief cause of obesity in America. It kills MILLIONS of people a year from heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, high blood pressure all as a result of overeating and laziness. It is probably highly responsible for your current rising cost of health care. Not only are more Americans becoming fat lazy gluttons but they are raising fat lazy gluttonous children. Childhood obesity is an epidemic in our country. Gluttony and overeating are condemned in the bible- Prov 23:21, Ecces 10:18, Rom 13:13, Phil 3:19 and 1 Pet 4:3.
And another MORE IMPORTANT battle we could be fighting is DRUNKENESS- Thousands of people in your country are killed by drunk drivers every year. How many families are wrecked by alcoholism? The bible also condemns drunkeness: 1Cor 5:11, 1Cor 6:10, Gal 5:21, Rom 13:13
What about RAGE AND HATRED? It breaks more families apart every day! I mean it's a stretch for me to imagine my gay neighbor getting married breaking up MY family but I can clearly see how rage and hatred can do it. Plus It’s medically proven to be dangerous to your health. It leads to strife, murder and discord. America has the highest violent crime rates of any first world country. We have skyrocketing domestic abuse and child abuse, rampant school violence and bullying. How many criminal acts in your country can be traced back to rage and hatred? How come hate groups like the KKK and Neo Nazis are allowed to operate freely and are so un-challenged by conservative Christian groups? There are too many bible passages condemning rage and hatred to list them all. One of my favourites are: Eph 4:31 which also includes "bitterness" and hurtful utterances".
What about GOSSIP? The Apostle Peter listed gossipers and busybodies among the same group as murderers and theives in 1 Peter 4:15, other passages condemning gossip as sinful are Prov 11:13, Jam 4:11, 1 Tim 3:11 and 5:13 and 14. Think of all the slander lawsuits clogging up our courts or just the emotional pain of people who have been gossiped about.
Here’s a big one- LYING. Just think of all the millions fraud cases ALONE in our country and the latest epidemic of identity theft. Think of all the marriages ripped apart by lies. Think of all the all the fibs we tell almost EVERYDAY. Once again there too many passages to list. Here are two- Rev 21:8 and Eph 4;25.
I could go and on just to show the skewerd priorities of some Christians.
