In this plane, we are all for the most part, "living a lie", even when we think we are "living a truth". None of it is real, it's all an illusion, and the "lie" is all in our perceptions here. All the world's a stage, and all the men and women on it merely players. As long as we are tied to physical attachments in the form of people, things, ideas, or whatever else, we will continue to "live a lie". For all I know, even the idea that these illusions contain lessons for the perfection and enlightenment of the soul is a "lie", as well as the idea that once we can rid ourselves of such things we will be able to see the truth of our ultimate reality. I may be lying to both of us right now!

Satan gave Eve the perception that Adam had lied to her about what God said. We're paying for that now. He then lied to Sarah and gave her a perception that it would be OK for her husband to have sex with her hand maid. The fighting in the middle east is a result of this lie.

Knowingly or not, the false perceptions that you are spreading cause others to believe a lie - how's your conscience doing?

I hope that wasn't vague.

I think it speaks for itself. Living a lie is the truest meaning of 'living in sin'. If the lies are: I'm unworthy, I'm helpless, I can never know the truth, etc., then you may be in for trouble.(but the truth shall set you free?) I'm not sure that 'all is perception' unless you include direct experience and being as part of perception.
Is there a place where the two become one? Yes, all is a part of a greater creativity
and a creative 'groping' towards a more complete understanding. Distortions are bound to occur, but they're nothing to be afraid of. No soul is forever ignorant.

It is not all a perception, living in lies is living in sin, no matter which way you or anyone else tries to paint it, living in truth is living in Grace, everlasting and fueling the heart.
The two merge in you and I, because we are all sinful, but it is what we do with our sinfulness that defines whether we want to make a concerted effort in the balance of things to tip more towards truth or lie.
I choose truth.
God bless and have a great day.

Hey! For starters, let me tell you, there IS such thing as living a lie and is a distinct difference in "living in truth" and "living in sin". I myself have lived in sin (as probably every one of us has at some point in their life). Let me first tell you: IT IS NOT A GOOD FEELING. I believe that when you are living in sin, if you are a Christian, you will be convicted. You will know that what you're doing is wrong and feel guilt. I know this was true for me. Living the truth is definitely not always easy, however, it is the way to go!
ps. Yes, easier said than done. I am far from perfect and currently struggling to overcome the "lie(s)" i have been living. Any prayer/support would be GREATLY appreciated.
AND...Good luck to you in your search distinguishing between "Truth" and "Sin (lies)" I wish you the best of luck!!

I'm not sure that both are perceptions. Maybe because they could be vague in one's mind then some regard the fact that a lie cannot be true you classify them as perceptions!

Well when you live a lie or in a lie, you are deceiving everyone, including yourself. And how can it be perception, wrong is wrong, lie is a lie, black is black, get it.

And as for the other thing, let me leave you with this thought....

The two shall be so close that when one cries, the other tastes salt....

The difference is valid perception vs. correct perception. The two merge at the point of enlightenment.

Living the Truth means constant exploration and wonder as you delve into the intricacies of Quantum Mechanics, Big Bang Cosmology, Geology, Evolution (theory/evidence), Relativity (SR/GR) and on and on and on, virtually ad infinitum.

This compares with living with: one book.

Where do you get the idea that all is just perception from?
