No, my Church has name tags, specially made ones and it is a good idea as sometimes you forget the persons name and don't want to keep repeating, sorry forgot your name

You can place a formal complaint to the Diocese and ask for a review of the practices. There is nothing in the liturgical practice approved by the USCCB that permit this type of behavior, and much less to give videos during the Mass is not recommended, at least not at all the Masses. The choir on the other hand as long as what they are singing is not against liturgical practice can be done how ever they see fit. Actually the choir part of your Mass sounds interesting and appealing, it is the name tag wearing and the videos that I have a problem with, again because I dont think it is liturgical in nature.
My first suggestion is to talk to the pastor of your church and see what his reasoning is.
God bless and good luck in this matter, I will pray for guidance and patience.

No you are not over reacting. There should be no videos shown at Mass. That should be reported to the Bishop.
The nametags thing is quite obnoxious.
Everything else you will have to compare to the GIRM

If your parish is sliding towards Protestantism, you might want to find another parish unless you have the stomach to work for change at your current one.

No, I do not think you are overreacting. This seems improper to me as well. Actually the Latin Mass is a better form of worship because ALL the focus is on the TABERNACLE where it belongs. In the Latin Mass focus is not diverted to the priest or choir or any other person but Jesus Christ in the Tabernacle.

No...you are not overreacting...that is horrible.
Mass is about the Eucharist. Mass is about receiving Christ...not about socializing and entertaining parishioners.
I would contact the local Bishop and/or Archdiocese about this. It is clearly out of line for the celebration of Mass. It is against the Church rules for the order of mass.

Sounds like they are trying to compete with the mega churches and have a party instead of a sacred service. I'd sure be vocal with your priest and parish council about how you feel.

Yes, I agree. The Mass should be more of a spiritual celebration. leave the entertainment at the auditorium.

I could accept (and have done) the name tags (helpful) and music (of a devotional type), but draw the line at videos!
