Jeez, you'd think christians would know a bit more about christ.
First, AD stands for "Anno Domini" (Latin for "in the year of our lord"). Originally this was contrasted with ACN (for "Ante Christum Natum," or "before christ was born").
In any case Herod was long dead by 1 AD. He died in 4 BC so, if the gospels are accurate Jesus would have had to have been born before that date. On the other hand, the census of Quirinius was conducted in 6 AD, so Jesus would have had to have been born after that date.
Scholars tend to accept the earlier date based on Herod and assume that mention of the census was just to place Joseph of Nazareth in Bethlehem to resolve the issue raised in John 7:42.
So, 2007 years ago, Jesus was around kindergarten age and would have been walking.

They use Jesus birth as a pivitol point in history. We count today from then and to go back in time we go back from there.
Like mosses crosses into the promise land and writes the first 5 books of the bible Date is 1513.BCE
For some reason time stated at 4026 BCE [before the Christian Era] Then they counted down from there and ended up with O. Which is about the time Jesus was born.
So some scholars who are in the know took time to figure out how long man has been on the earth and countred time.
In 1975 it had been 6000 years. So today it has been 6032 years since Adam.

Give or take 10 years or so. Some scholars are up in the air as to the exact time of birth. The calendar wasn't converted immediately at the time of his birth and that leaves a little room for error in the exact date, but it was somewhere around there. Even those who deny Jesus' identity as God the Son still acknowledge that he was alive.

Since the official day and date of Jesus' birth were guessed at and voted on by the council of Nicaea, we may never know for sure.
My personal fave is that he was born around 3 or 2 BC.
Some of the arguments related to reasons for the date confusion include:
There is no "Year Zero" on the calendar. That means they started counting at year 1.
According to the idea of "AD" (year of the lord) they should have started counting from his Ascension not his birth.
King Herod was already dead by year 1.

That's about the year he was born. But for walking the earth, he probably learned to walk about a year after he was born :P

Scholars think that Jesus was probably born closer to 5 A.D. rather than on the previous date of Jesus' birth.

From a historical point of view, there is NO evidence that Jesus ever existed as a man. (I'm not saying that he didn't exist, only that we have no independent evidence) So- it is strictly a *religious* question that you are asking, and those answers are only in the scriptures which were written supposedly 2 generations after Jesus died.
There are no independent or first person records or evidence that can be used to answer this question.
