my x has been my x for 9 years, we have a child 10 yrs old...x married 7 years ago & if it wasn't for her, my son wouldn't be in their lives...so, needless to say, I am greatful to her & she is an awesome mom to my son when he stays w/ them. I can talk to her on the phone, go places together, hang at soccer games, and we have both introduced mutual friends to one another. When they got married they verbally invited me, but, now it's my turn, 8 years later... should I invite? My finacee doesn't care because he isn't intimidated by my x because my fiancee & I are happy in love & he is happy w/ his wife, who I would consider almost a friend...we were never friends before they met: I didn't know her till they married. I dunno, kinda wierd to post on this, but wanted to hear opinions...I honestly don't care if they there or not, just trying to get along in every aspect & show my son just that.

Wouldnt it be a better world if everyone were like you? And we could all get along. You are right to do it for your son. How many children are in trouble because of selfish divorces but you are doing something positive. Best Wishes

It would be a nice gesture to send an invitation, but do not read anything into it if your invitation is declined. If I received such an invitation I would see it as an act of good will, but I would be inclined to send a gift and stay home the day of the wedding so that nobody else would feel uncomfortable about the situation.

If there are no bad feelings, she's your friend, and it will help your son see that everyone is happy and connected, then I don't see any reason to NOT invite her/them to your wedding. Anyone who is important to you as a couple and whose presence would make your day better should be there, regardless of what the previous relationship might have been.

How wonderful for your son -- he doesn't have to worry about hurting your feelings if he cares about her. It would be great if more divorce/remarriage situations could be handled that well!

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage, too!

you are over each other and it would be a great thing to share with your son, that his family is together.

Good for ya'll.

Sure, that's fine! If your ex doesn't feel comfortable, he doesn't really have to go. But if you went (or got an invite) to theirs, it should acceptable!
