a friend of mine took my brother, his roommate and myself to go target shooting off an old dirt road in Oregon, signs were posted around the area that we went to that said "No Trespassing" but they were placed off the road a ways in a manner that made it looke like anywhere off the road was off limits. It turned out that we were about 100 feet into private property of a logging company and were given citations for trespassing with firearms, what penalty can we expect? we are all 20-22 college students with no records with the police so far

Oregon Law states:

164.265 Criminal trespass while in possession of firearm. (1) A person commits the crime of criminal trespass while in possession of a firearm who, while in possession of a firearm, enters or remains unlawfully in or upon premises.

(2) Criminal trespass while in possession of a firearm is a Class A misdemeanor.

If you're on private property, the owner can have you charged and arrested or issued a summons!

Most likely you will be found guilty of the offense and pay court costs and fines with a possibility of probation as well!

Best wishes.
