Ok, so I have nero 7 and it takes 3 an a half hours to encode an avi file to get it ready to make a DVD disc. I also have WinAVI but that doesnt seem to make a playable disc. So what else can I try to cop my AVI (and maybe MPEG) films to DVD.

Thank you

ConvertX2DVD by VSO, one of the fastest converters on the planet. You can download its older free "preview" version called Divx2DVD from http://www.videohelp.com. It will generate a burnable DVD image from an AVI file usually in less than 1 hour, then add 8 minutes to burn the image.

Speed isnt what your looking for... dvd burning takes time! Speeding up the process will only give you a greater chance of ending up with more coasters (unplayable dvds). I would stick with NeroVision like you have been using.
