Our family of five is planning on relocating from MD to PA to afford a bigger house. Their taxes seem so confusing! Anyone compare PA to MD?
How much more expensive?

they are all messed up... i use to work in maryland so the only tax i'm sure about is the sales tax down there on everything... in PA we got 6% sales tax on certin goods, then there are crazy property taxes along with school taxes... just to name a few

PA state income taxes aren't bad, a little over 3% flat rate. In most locations you'll also pay a local income tax of 1% - it's higher in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Then there a number of additional, fairly small taxes.
