Christmas decorations. I've suggested it before. It's a really great idea...every year when they decorate they will think of you...and it's something that you don't think of buying for yourself...but something you really want to have when you are married. I got some for my wedding 11 years ago and I still know who gave them to me and think of them as I decorate for the holidays!
Good luck

I buy something from the gift registry, and something personal- the Christmas ornament [ with the year, their names, or both ] is a great idea. Doesn't have to be expensive- just something you know they would appreciate.
A years supply of popcorn for the couch potatoes, certificate for an hour with a trainer at the gym for the athletes, etc.

I would get them something special for entertaining, like a silver platter with their monogram engraved on it or I would go to a high end gift shop and get something there...they probably don't have much for serving guests, but will likely start hosting dinner parties, etc once they're married and will need stuff like that.

Depends on how much you want to spend.
Are they registered anywhere(walmart, target, etc)? If so , check their registry, and its easy shoppin from there.
If not...and you have been to their home, casually look around. If you see something you think they would like but dont have...GET it.
Id say places like Bed Bath and Beyond are great for getting gift ideas. You can get everything from bedding, to luxurious bath towels.
Do they like to have parties? ....get them a unique set of bar tools(shaker, wine opener, stirrer, etc). Some places have them in gift sets.
Picture frames are always needed. Check their decor, and get picture frames(I got one that is dark wood, and holds 7-8 4x6 pictures for my gramma for her birthday)...They can add to the memories for years.
When in major doubt..Gift cards are always a great thing :)

How about just giving them money that way they can spend it however they want...or a gift card to their favorite store or restaurant, or a weekend getaway at a bed and breakfast.

Give them a gift certificate to create a video montage from their wedding photos. You can be certain that they don't have one of those yet.
Check out http://www.bigmomentfilms.com for one example of a company that does that and sells gift certificates.

Buy something they both can use. Buy something for her or him that can be enjoied by both of them (if you know what i mean), or just buy something for their house. Plates, a TV, confertor, you know stuff like that.

Just ask them where they're registered, and get them something from their registry.
