the answer is obvious. sure it s real that you'll be able to get married in a non secular ceremony, although, it really is not necessary or a call for. Marriage is a state comprehend contract between 2 human beings, no longer a required non secular ceremony. Divorce occurs in court docket no longer contained in the church, marriage isn't legally binding till a signed notarized reproduction of the marriage license is filed with the Clerk of Courts on your section. It does no longer require someone of the church to finish the criminal contract it really is marriage. at the same time as republications raise that marriage is between a guy and a females because it says contained in the Bible, it truly doesn t count number. non secular beliefs are not any more regulation. So the answer to this question is Marriage is a Legally Binding contact.

Marriage is as much a civil legality as it is a religious legality.

Hence, you don't have to have a "religious ritual." There are civil services for the non-religious.

It's all in the news right now. I'm surprised you haven't read about it. The rights of homosexuals to same sex unions? Many states are allowing civil services for such unions.

I was told by a Priest that the church ceremony isn't legal. The marriage license is what makes it legal. I thought it was interesting because he said he felt that people should get a marriage license and after a year if they still wanted a church wedding then they should go for it. His point was really that instead of taking the vows first, live together for that year and if you want to say vows then good.

Sounds a little Pagan to me. ;-)

There is another way of course. Handfasting or a simple I love you let's live together until we either fall out of love or die.

Because a long, long time ago, people were religious and it was deemed a valid idea to adopt Biblical laws into civic law.
Religion is less respected now, but the laws have remained.
Atheists should not be concerned about marriage ...it originates in the Bible and if God does not exist, He never made the Bible.

Nonsense! My marriage, 12 miles from the nearest road, at a hut in the Rockies, was *NOT* a religious ritual at all.

Anyone wishing to be married without religious overtones may do so in a simple civil ceremony. A religious ceremony is not required.

It doesn't have to be religious. I was married in a fancy hotel by a justice of the peace. It looked very traditional, but we didn't discuss deities.

Marriage is the most sacred gift from god but if you're a true follower you know that your heart only has enough room inside to love him because he is so wonderful!
