It seems that dispite all the evidence that most of the bible is mythology taken from other mythology, there is still a large segment of the population that just can't seem to see the evidence. The premise of the christ story, along with views regarding the after life and the even the commandments being written by the hand of god can all be attributed to earlier religions that the Jews came into contact with. This leaves little doubt that the Jews and christians were plaguerists, as was common at that time.

But christians refuse to see that. They only see what can be interpreted through the bible. My prognosis is that they have what I call Biblicus Stucktofaceitis. It is the result of bibles constantly being smashed into ones head to the point where it becomes a part of the face and obstructs your vision of the world around you. With your vision impaired, you fail to see the writing on the walls in Egypt, and believe that dead people tried to kill newborn babies. All in favor!

Maybe we should blame the parents not to teach their children how to think or how to question. Some just can't do that on their own! Don't blame them, it's not their fault, they are brainwashed or just need something to lean on to. Let's be nice to them. ;)

If you want to impress people with your intellect (and clearly you feel the need to) then try to learn to spell (ie... "dispite" and "plaguerists"). That being said, you prove your idiocy by making statements like "...most of the Bible is taken from mythology...". First you said this was true in spite of the evidence... so you admit there is ample evidence supporting the truths in the Bible. Next, you don't cite any reference or resource, so we should agree with you because you say so? Finally, the numbers at least in this country are NOT on the side of the non-believer. Most Americans believe the Bible and believe in God. So you suffer from Biblica ignoramus with an enlarged head. You ignore facts and blindly argue things you can't back up. Go away now, you have much to learn before you post a question and reveal how really ignorant you are.

My vision of the world hasn't been obstructed by the Bible. I think that your life has been obstructed because you are so focused on disproving religion. Why do you care so much what others believe? If you don't believe it move on...in fact that kind of sounds like a real mentally debilitating disease.....

Blah blah blah. Same tired stupid smack talk. Don't you ever get tired of people rolling their eyes at you? Why do you care what I believe? Whatever. Maybe if you read the Bible, and compared it with the thousands of archaeological digs that prove the historicity of the Bible, you might actually be able to posit an educated point of view.

I think we should consider atheist preoccupation with others' faith and blatant refusal to get the facts a mentally debilitating disease. But whatever floats your boat. You know what? It affects me not at all if you think of me as "mentally debilitated." But thanks for the points. :-)

What it's an actual mentally debilitating deseace is the lack of brain activity of the people that are not able to realize and understand that each every one of us have the absolute right to believe whatever we want and it's no one else's problem and/or business.

Or, maybe you could go back and read your history books again, and you will see the overwhelming evidence that the books of the Bible were around far longer than most of the ones you think they were plagarised from.
