That scripture in Habakkuk is a good one.
Jesus went through an agonizing death for mankind to buy back for us what Adam lost (everlasting life)
To say that God came down to earth & died for us actually undermines what Jesus actually did. He went through humiliation, excruciating pain and died (ceased to live) all for us.
Also, if God did die (cease to live) then who resurrected him? If he resurrected himself (or a part of him resurrected him) then he didn't really die as such which makes the sacrifice of no value.
The scriptures are very clear when they show that Jesus ceased to exist for parts of three days & a separate personality (God) resurrected him.
Those who hold dear the belief of the Trinity would do well to research the origins of the Trinity which came about long after Jesus walked on the earth. If we really want to know the truth of God's word & guidance these things cannot be just dismissed.

The only way "God" could die was to be born into flesh and surrender to death as an act of His will.
Jesus Christ was/is the express image of the Father. GOD is a trilogy of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
God the Son sacrificed himself to leave all of his heavenly attributes and came and lived as a MAN in the flesh, born of a woman and submitted to all aspects of life without sin because He stayed in constant contact with His Father in heaven. He even submitted to the spirit of death or death couldn't have taken Him, and He did that by becoming the "lamb of God" sacrificed for the sins of the world..., and God the Father placed all of the sins of mankind on Him, God the Son, and allowed Him to pay the price for us all. The Word of God tells us that Jesus "gave" Himself; He was not murdered. Read about the crucifixion in the end of the four gospels for the facts.
You can read and study the 53rd chapter of Isaiah after the story of Jacob offering up his son Isaac on the alter in the book of Genesis. This story was the prelude of God and His Son, and actually the prophetic act for it. Anyway, when Jesus took on the sins of the world there in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Father God couldn't "look upon Him" as a Father, but had to let His payment work. What a plan and what a planner!! ONLY God in the flesh could redeem mankind after Adam "fell" from the position of 'lord of the Earth' by giving that power and authority to the devil, by his disobedience and rebellion.
Jesus DID die; He IS God the Son; and He arose again on the third day only because He couldn't be held in hell and under death's power because He had no sin; and IS ALIVE forever more having defeated all the power of death FOR ME AND YOU. You can be free from your pact with death (by inheritance) if you choose to accept Jesus' sacrifice for you.

God cannot die. When Jesus walked as a man, he had to die as a man. But Jesus only died a human death, He lives!!

Jehovah is the Most High. Ps. 83:18. At John 17:3, Jesus called his Father the only true God. The word "only" means: one of a kind; unique. If the Father is unique as the true God, then Jesus can't be the true God. At John 10:36, he called himself God's Son.
So, it was God's Son who died, not God.
The unscriptural trinity doctrine has confused the minds of millions into thinking that Jesus is God. Sad.
Concerning Jesus' death, Ro. 6:9 says: "For we know that Christ, now that he has been raised up from the dead, dies no more; death is master over him no more."
Is anything master over Jehovah the Most High? No. But death was master over Jesus because who could not escape it on his own. His God and Father had to resurrect him from the grave. Gal. 1:1

of course not Brother. Jehovah cannot die. but Jesus Christ the son died for us. how is your wife and new son? did she have an easy time? Jesus never said he was God. who was he praying to? you cannot pray to yourself. Jesus said that he cannot do anything without the Father in the heaven. even when the devil wanted Jesus to worship him, Jesus said you must worship Jehovah God only

because of the fact Jesus became Jewish and the Jews do no longer believe that a guy can die for yet another guy's sins it what proves that "He died for our sins" is incorrect. Now the doctrine of unique sin, isn't actually approximately own sin. to understand this the unique sin of Adam became that he disobeyed God. And the end results of his disobedience became that he became no longer in His Grace (guy became separated from God). Now because of the fact all of mankind are the descendants of Adam we are additionally born into disobedience, and thank you to this disobedience which we are born into we are additionally born with out His Grace. So by using His dying His obedience paid for Adam's disobedience, subsequently whilst we are baptized into His dying we are reborn into His obedience. and by His Resurrection He had restored His Grace with mankind, so which you will say whilst we are baptized we receive the unfastened present of His Grace. To be forgiven all your previous own sins after being baptized is extra like the end results of being forgiven the unique sin of Adam. yet this would not recommend your incapable of committing sin because of the fact we nonetheless have unfastened will, subsequently even a baptized person nonetheless needs to repent for their own sins. so that they nonetheless supply you the prospect to the two proceed to be interior His Grace or get rid of themselves from His Grace.

I don't think I truly understand how Jesus can be God and man, but He was. I can only look at my children and know that they are part of me, yet separate. So God created his son, who was part of Him, yet separate from Him. And part of God, Jesus, died to save us. Yet He didn't really die, did he, He rose from the grave, He conquered death...for all of us. The reason Jesus was able to conquer death is because he is God, and God cannot die.

Luke 24:43 says Jesus "gave up the Ghost" if he wanted he could have walked away from his death, instead he allowed Himself to die for us. Really great if you think about it. Also since he died so soon another prophesy of Him having no broken bones was fufilled.
