Actually, we Reformed Calvinists believe no one can "convince" anyone. The non-believer is spiritually and morally dead. Not dying, but unequivocally dead in their sins. God must quicken the dead to life.
No person comes to the call to righteousness of God unless God has foreordained that person to be among God's chosen elect.
But how do they answer the call?
They come because we are commanded to deliver the Good News of Christ's atoning sacrifice. God chose the elect, and foreordained the elect answer that call through the hearing of the message Christians are commanded to deliver.
Those that have been chosen by God will not be able to resist that call ---> irresistible Grace.

Always Question Authority, but don't believe the answers they tell you. You have to find out on your own. Dogma and doctrine are second-hand. Go find out for yourself what is true. You have to be responsible for yourself. Taking someone else's word for it, in the matter, is lazy and shirks responsibility. Spirituality is universal. All humans have the Spirit. There is no One True Faith. Spirituality isn't about social conformity, it's about how you, as an individual, relate to the Divine which resides in all things. Man made all the gods, so it's not about devotion to this or that particular diety. Dont get me wrong. The gods are great, but at the end of the day, you are pulling the cart, you are driving the cart, they are just riding shotgun helping to navigate or they're just along for the ride. Becoming a better person requires effort. You can't just say god X saved me, so I can stop working at it now. It keeps going and it dont stop. Even after you die, you have to work at improving who you are, as a being. Then you get reincarnated, back to this place again, to do it some more.

A person should not try and convince anyone into their own beliefs but to lead them to seek Yeshuah (The Messiah). If they are down trodden, confused, depressed; a true Believer will gently calm their spirit (conscious). To give them hope, and show compassion that no burden is too big for God. To put their faith in Yeshuah and God will hear them. The Messiah has been HUMILIATED, TORTURED beyond human bearings, not for you to walk away from Him. Yeshuah wants you to come to HIM that He can give you Love and place you in His Love. Yeshuah wants YOU, no matter the sins, no matter the guilt; He came for the sinners to give them a NEW LIFE, A FULFILLED HOPE, and ABUNDANT LOVE. Yeshauh has the love to FORGIVE and FORGET.

I would say the truth about what I believe and why I believe it.
I would back it up with scripture (and prayer).
And I would back it up with all available evidence.
In Christianity, the evidence is apparent......unfortunatley, the obvious isn't so obvious to the non-believer....so it's always a challenge.

Islam:
None is worthy of worship EXCEPT Allah. {Allah is God in Arabic}
in the Bible the first commandment is clear. "Thou shalt have NO OTHER GODS or graven images before me".
plain and simple. Christians give worship to God AND Jesus... there is no "AND" in the first commandment. it says NO OTHER GODS. Islam gives NO partner to God, because He said so.
2nd. there are too many Bibles, rewitten and revised over and over. It says in their Holy Book the same it says in our Holy Quraan.. to change and add NOTHING.
hummmmm....the Bible has been changed soooo much
There is only ONE Quraan. it is in Arabic. there are translations of the Quraan but this is not the Quraan.
and they will say "translation of" the Holy Quraan. towhereas the Arabic Quraan says Quraan.
so here are two rules already we follow...{the good non violent Muslims anyways...since our religions are related through prophethood bloodlines...or something like this.}
1. God says to worship no one but Him. so we worship no one but Him.
2. we are not to change the Holy Book. ours has been the only Holy Book that has remained unchanged. i wish i could say the same for Islam itself. because of the terrorists, Islam has changed. but our Holy Book remains the same. Islam is over 1400 years old, our Holy Quraan has remained unchanged for 1400 years.

I would try to convince them who Jesus is, why Jesus came and how He forgives your sin and one can have a personal relationship with Him.

We don't try to convince people... either you convince yourself the Buddha's right, per his own request, or you don't.

Nope. I don't try to change minds. I give my opinion, and it's on a take it or leave it basis.
