Chuck it. It doesn't speak for me. Immigrants of the old times came and worked to Assimilate.
Immigrants now come and INVADE. They don't give a rats butt about how much it costs the rest of us to support them. Leaches. They send their $$ home, they don't put it back into our economy. They TAKE way more than they contribute.

It's not the Statue of Liberty that causes our elected congressmen to just argue about border security and no laws are ever passed. So no, don't throw the Statue of Liberty into the bay, instead write to your congressmen and tell them what you expect them to do. Also, make sure you relieve Bush and his cohorts of their jobs in November 2008 - and be extremely wise when voting. Research, research and research.

The Statue of Liberty is a gift that welcomed many of our relatives into the USA. We cannot get rid of it. It is a national monument. It symbolizes the good in our nation and that we are only the great nation that we are because of all of the people of different backgrounds that came here, watching for the Statue of Liberty.

No- the Statue of Liberty is a representation of the best of us of our compassion, as human beings, and the fact that this is an immigrant nation- a melting pot of cultures. That AMERICAN doesn't mean rich, or poor, or white, or brown, or yellow. It means our diversity is what makes us great.
I'd much sooner toss people like you in the bay.

The Statue was a gift. We should regift it and send it to some country we're not that fond of, but that we don't plan on invading. The plaque was added after the French gave it to us, I believe.
