Whey protein helps you build muscle. If you are worried about gaining weight from this, you can also use egg protein which is a leaner protein. (I use this, and love it)

Whey Protein is a great supplement to a healthy diet to increase muscle mass.

Other things that help are eating 8-10 meals a day, taking in 4000-4500 calories a day, heart green veggies like spinich and asparagus, plenty of whole grains and nuts.

I had to gain 9 pounds under doctor's orders and those were some of my guidelines.
