The Bbile clearly teaches that those who love the truth will seek it with all of their heart. Those who seek the truth receive a free gift form God called faith and through faith comes revelation and a personal relationship with God.

Dear mary,

"Faith" is a synonym for Jesus Christ. The Lord asks in the Bible several times, "Where is your faith?" In Revelation 19:11 we read, "And I say heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war." This one called Faithful and True is Jesus Christ (God). Please turn to Hebrews 11 (called the Hall of Faith chapter) and where ever you see the word "faith" insert Christ. The best English Bible is the King James Version so I would encourage you to use it. As you go through Hebrews 11, you will see that Jesus Christ is the focus.

Next, go to Romans 3 and do the same thing. You can continue through the entire book of Romans and find that it is Christ who is our righteousness, our justifier, our Savior.

You see the Bible must be read very carefully-it is God's word. We should have the attitude, "Oh Lord, please teach me-I do not know anything." Remember God resisteth the proud and giveth grace unto the humble.

Here is the last point I wanted to show you. Look at Galatians 2:16, 20 and Philippians 3:9. Again, our faith cannot save us-it has to be Christ's faith. Do you know why? Because "faith" is a work (1 Thessalonians 1:3; 2 Thessalonians 1:11). And if you have studied your Bible, you know that our works cannot save us (Ephesians 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5). I hope you can see how important Bible study is. Many people come on Y/A religion and say things that they have learned in their churches. But if it does not line up with God's word, it is wrong.

The bible teaches, "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God". I can tell you how I have grown in faith. It's from being in the word of God, in bible study. I go to church on Sundays, and my church teaches right from the bible. I have a bible study Thursday nights. I have been in bible study for ten years. I have studied, in depth, most of the books of the new testament. I also pray often.

I'm not saying these things like, "look what I've done, aren't I a good Christian". In fact, I'm lax in both bible study and prayer! I should do it every single day! But I want to encourage you to get into God's word. "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all things will be added to you". God never promises anything that He will not deliver on, a thousand times over. Seek Him. How you receive gifts from God is that you seek His will for your life and surrender your will to Him. Everything else will come, in time, from Him. God bless you!

God gave to man "the measure of faith". He also told us that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The more you hunger and thirst after righteousness, the more you will be filled, also according to Gods word. So in other words, long and seek after Gods word and in doing so your faith that God gave you from the beginning will grow stronger and stronger.

The bible teaches that faith come from "hearing the word." I wonder why so many atheists know the word better than most christians and still remain faithless? Maybe P.T. Barnum was wrong. Some people are still able to think critically despite the writing of the ancient semitic goat herders.

No one has a "Faith Gene" when they're born - we're *all* born atheist. So many get faith via bedtime prayer, bible school, dinner discussions... basically, INDOCTRINATION.

Maintainance is more of the same, plus church, mingling with like-mided theists, church picnics... more INDOCTRINATION.

Your third question is a non-sequitur... there are *no* Gods.

Faith is emotion. You need to conjur up the emotion.

Say three Hallelujahs to Jesus every morning.
