Would you like to tell us what kind of morality encourages people to worship a god who drowns babies?

And if your morality can encompass the idea of worshipping a god who drowns babies, and can encompass the idea that anyone who doesn't worship a god who drowns babies will be thrown into the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, what kind of morality are you encouraging in others?

Tweety: Where did you get the idea God wanted all of humanity to climb onto the ark, along with the animals he selected?

If God -really- wanted to give humanity a chance, wouldn't he have had Noah build a bigger ark?

Are you suggesting God drowning all the babies of the world is akin to two people hitting each other?

Where in the world are you getting your information? God doesn't drown babies. PEOPLE drowned those babies. when those babies die, God takes them, and takes care of them....MY God, is a loving and merciful God, so I don't know of this god you are talking of. my God is incapable of cruelty, and hatred. Christians are not the ones to be questioning sir, we need to be questioning these psycho serial killers, and rapists. and these so called Catholic priests. and let me say that what those Catholic "priests" are doing is not what all Christians are like....THEY are the ones that will pay for what they've done...it's not the TRUE Christians that do this, and it's certianly not God. it is Humans. WE are to blame for whats wrong in this world, so don't sit there and criticize God for our ignorance. He gave us a choice whether to turn our lives over to God, or sit there all smug and stupidly think we don't need him. God doesn't do those things you mentioned....if you want someone to blame, look at who is REALLY to blame. God loves those babies, just as he does us...but it is up to US whether we do good, or not... so the next time you want to point fingers...turn it in another direction..because it certianly isn't God, or the true Christian people that are causing these problems.

i didn't see the last part about the flood....but i'll answer it now...Those people were given a chance to save themselves, but they didn't listen. so it is their fault. and so even though it wasn't the babies' fault for not listening God told Noah to tell them what he was gonna do, so again as i said above...it is THEIR faults. they had a chance to get on that ark, but they didn't. and while that may seem cruel to you, God didn't do it just for pure cruelty...he done it because we humans were getting out of hand..and it's happening again, but it isn't gonna be by flood this time...it's gonna be far worse. God will take his children, including babies, up in the rapture, and then that's when all the trouble starts. i'm sure i sound like a complete loon, but i don't care...

Drowning babies? That's the least of it.

Take, for instance, the book of Joshua. The Jews were ordered to commit a GENOCIDE of all the people living in the land. That's right, a genocide. Now, the principle weapon of the time was a sickle sword, a curved blade shaped like the farming implement. It is impossible to stab with a sickle sword, so the only way to kill with it would be to hack someone to death. Now, at Jericho, for instance, almost every single person was killed in this way: women, children and the elderly included.

Now, how is this justifiable? Simply put, people have broken the law that God has given. That makes us all liable to be punished by death. It doesn't matter if you stole something or if you murdered five people; you still have broken the law, and the punishment for that is death.

As for the morality part, you are too focused on one aspect of God. Would you call someone a bad person just because they hit someone who was doing harm to them, even though they are really a good and honest person?

How Chrisitians worship a God that drowns babies? That is a good question. Well first things first can you give me any biblical evidence of God drowning babies? No you can't beccause the incident that you are speaking of involves Pharaoh drowning the Hebrew children in the book of Exodus. But if you read real close it was not God who did this horrible thing but a man, Pharaoh king of Eygpt. Now the question becomes why would a man do that? Jeremiah 17:9 Says that "the heart is decitful above all things." The real issue is that our hearts are diseased with a condition known as SIN. Sin is in its most basic form rebellion against the God who created us. So why would a man drown babies? Because he is in open rebellion agaist God. Romans 1 says that since man does not think the knowledge of God is worth while God give them over to sinful desires of their hearts. Unfortunately one of the things in the heart of a man in murder or in your case drowning. And what man wants to kill is the only creature made in the image of God.

God has absolute sovereignty over life and death. God is not "moral" or "immoral". He is absolute authority. It is His sovereign right and His alone to decide when any individual creature will be conceived, and when and how any individual creature will die. Morality is a measure of how WE behave, relative to the laws God has set down for US. Murder is immoral precisely because it takes upon ourselves a right that belongs to God alone. He judges us. We do not judge Him.
