I'm thinking about becoming a Christian but I'm worried loving Jesus may lead me down the path of manly love. Should I be concerned about this?

You can love Jesus and not become christian.

Loving "Jesus" is the type of love called; "God's Love" or "Univeral Love". It is not the type of love you are speaking of and so concerned about called; "manly love" or the sort of love where a man has a passion for another man. That's not what "Jesus" taught. What "Jesus" spoke of was much like the love of a Father for his Son, a Son for his Father, a Brother for his Brother & a Mother for her Child.

Loving Jesus is not as necessary as following the Way that He provided for us. Christians love Jesus for giving His life for us and leading us to God.

As one answerer said, this is not an intimate love. In fact, you should be able to love living men, just as women love other women. Heterosexual men have a fear that by loving another man they will become gay. The reality is that being gay is not a choice and heterosexual men do not become gay, just as homosexual men do not become heterosexual.

In fact, it is sad to say, but most of the Christian Church does not accept homosexuality and considers homosexuals to be sinners by choice. Parts of the Church are learning better, but the Church always fights new ideas and it will be a long time before the Church accepts homosexuals.

Take care,
Troy

Loving Jesus is like loving your father or brother. It not sexual at all. You become close with him and tell him everything, but this does not change who you look at as beutiful. If anything you see men as brother's not spouses! I think becoming a christian is great and will lead you to the path of righteousness, and when you sin, the glorious thing is he forgives you!

It all depends on how you define "love".

I don't believe that Jesus died for my sins. Only I can do that. He may have been killed for what he did but I didn't have anything to do with that. So I don't care about Jesus one way or the other. I also don't believe in that immaculate conception/raised from the dead story either. Anyone who falls for that kinda crap can be sold any bridge in the city at half price.

How does Zerro or whatever his name is know that Jesus was against homosexualism? Didn't he only hang out with a bunch of guys himself? Did he have a girlfriend or a wife? Did he produce any kids? I rest my case.

The bible does not say that is incorrect for a guy to love yet another guy, it says it somewhat is a sin and an abomination for a guy to lie with yet another guy as he could lie with a woman. do no longer mock that love by potential of being facetious approximately your Saviour. He loves you greater suitable than every person else ever will.

Uh, they're not talking about romantic love there, pal. Paternal or fraternal love is different. It's the same kind of love you have for your parents or siblings.
