I own a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero, which I was told went out of business. I have had nothing but problems since 31,000 miles... unfortunately warranty ended at 30,000. I understand that when you are having problems, if it's not under waranty it's tough luck. However.. these problems that I have been having are catastrofic, unacceptable to the point a recall should be made and I must contact someone. My biggest complaint is all the knobs are popping off INCLUDING the knob to the shift stick (to put it in and out of park) we have to use it like a key.. and when you are in high traffic and need to reverse quickly.. it's dangerous.. sometimes it'll even fall by the seat and I have cars honking at me. Any help?!?!? WHO do I contact, how? Thanks in advance!

The customer assistance line for N. America is 1-800-231-1841. That if not Olds Specific. It is for all GM product lines.
The old Olds number is 1-800-442-6537

Any GM dealer would have that part. Can't cost that much to replace the shift knob thingie. :)

I have an Old Cutlass myself (the new one, cousin to Chevy Malibu) and didn't like it that much. But I know I can go to any GM dealer to get things fixed.

Oh, and warranty usually ends at 36000 miles, not 30000.

i would contact general motors. they are the parent co. to oldsmobile. they should be able to handle your problem directly.
