It certainly isn't the hardest task. These guys in China built a wall more than 6400km long. That'd be harder.

I have big problems with the phrase "cross to bear," but I suspect you were merely trying to be clever. I find it deeply troubling that so many of the most militant right-wing fundamentalists are so obviously lacking in education. Even more troubling is their commonly held belief that knowledge itself is inherently evil. How does one deal with a person who habitually operates at the most primitive animalistic level and consistently imagines their own subjective perceptions actually are reality? I'm beginning to suspect that all men are not created equal. Some are capable of reason and others apparently are not.

~~~d c,,,,,The "hardest task" for me is the constant battle with Ignorance,,, and the Prejudice the ignorant have against Higher Knowledge,,,or Esoterica. One can only "work" with a person so far until their "Faith" in Dogmatic Principles rears it's ugly head and slams shut any possibility of An Open Mind. I'm reminded of an ancient Chinese saying,"I can take to you to The Fountain of Knowledge,,,, but it is You who must drink." This also allows me to be able to work on My Patience.
You can talk to people of all races and persuasions except Christians who have totally closed minds. Even Muslims who the Christians hate almost as much as atheists will discuss their religion and beliefs intelligently!
I have fought the barbarity and stupidity of racism in Africa and other countries, I have friends in many countries of many different races and religions and some are good Christians but sadly most who call themselves Christian when posting on here are extremist with closed minds.
As an atheist I don't deal with trying to reach people. I certainly would not use the phrase 'cross to bear' either. I could care less what anyone believes, providing is has no detrimental effect on me or my loved ones.
Where do you get off calling this any kind of responsibility? If you don't believe fine, we are not believers therefor we have nothing to prove.
Ignorant wannabe atheists are worse at times than the most fundamental of christians.
You question, if there is one buried in this crap, is pointless.
I believe it's my karma to be born in a world like this, yes, but I figure if others don't have the karma to understand things from my pov, they just don't. I don't feel a "responsibility" to change their minds, since such a thing is futile, so I just post my pov, but to stand in direct opposition to anything that causes harm and suffering is important.
Of course I'm impossible to reach by you, but hopefully, you're not so impossible to reach from us.
Am I the only who notices that when speaking to atheists, he (or she) uses a religious metaphor? Oh, the irony of it all.
Their hard-headedness is their own cross to bear.
I attempt to engage with it at times, but I don't take the responsibility or the weight on myself.
