Even God says humans will never be able to stop their sins, so why try to take the one hardest thing to take away, of all things, masturbation?

Because if you didn't, then those thoughts would just build up and build up until all you think is sex, and masturbation helps those thoughts go away.

No, I don't think it's inherently sinful.

It can be sinful though if one is obsessed by it.

The Bible teaches us, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31). If there is room for doubt as to whether it pleases God, then it is best to give it up. There is definitely room for doubt in regards to masturbation. "For whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Romans 14:23). I do not see how, according to the Bible, masturbation could be considered glorifying to God. Further, we need to remember that our bodies, as well as our souls, have been redeemed and belong to God. "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This great truth should have a real bearing on what we do and where we go with our bodies. So, in light of these principles, I would definitely have to say that masturbation is a sin according to the Bible. I do not believe that masturbation is pleasing to God, avoids the appearance of immorality, or passes the test of God having ownership over our bodies.

Its not a sin, according to the Bible.

The Bible never mentions it as a sin.

It is a natural thing that God has given everyone.

Now can it be abused? Can it be sinful? Yes it can.

Too much of anything is bad...

that's why the Bible says, to do everything in moderation.

However the Bible does point out somethings which are sinful...

This includes looking at porn...

or lusting after others.

or premarital sexual relations with others.

but "M" was ment to be a private thing, not to be shared with others.

God created us the way we are, this is not a sin, it's a natural bodily fuction.

The genital is meant for procreation.
When the world becomes degraded, civilization becomes demoniac, and for the common man the rectum and the genital are taken very seriously as the centers of all activity. The sex desires of the common man are condemned because are "wrongly directed," therefore is "sinful activity."

So the whole human civilization is meant how to restrict this sex desire. Why restriction? Because the sex desire, sex life, will keep him within this material world in different bodies, either as human being or as animal or as bird or as insect—so long there will be this sex desire. To become free, to become liberated means to become liberated from sex desire. Not how to increase sex desires. This is not civilization. Civilization is how to cut down sex desire and ultimately become free. That is civilization according to Vedic culture.

I actually always wondered that. Why is it even a sin? It doesn't hurt anything and hey its the safest sex there is. And out of sheer curiosity, where does it even state its a sin? Not saying it doesn't state it, just wondering where.

The truth is that your seed is meant to fertilze the seed in the womb. When your seed ends up elsewhere, you are distorting the truth of being, which is sin. Having sex with an image in your head is not healthy. You need to outgrow it.

I don't think jerkin the gherkin every once in a while is bad, but habitually is wrong as most people have sinning thoughts while doing it.

It must be more the prude society, who are afraid. It brings joy to someone and doesn't hurt anyone. I can't imagine this being a sin! Why? Would be a very cruel god who forbids that ;)

The scriptures tell us "It is better to cast thy seed into the belly of a whore than to spread it on the ground"

I don't think that alone will condemn you. If that's the worse thing you ever do in you life, in my opinion, you will be found worthy. (in my opinion)
