Hi Saad, as some have already commented this is a painting and not an actual photograph,Leonardo Da Vinci painted the Apostle John in this way because he was the youngest of the Apostles and it was fashionable to paint young men with almost feminine faces in Da Vinci`s time.

1. It's a painting, not a picture.
2. You've been reading too much fiction (DaVinci Code).
3. No one knows what Jesus or his Apostles looked like, the reported first drawing of Jesus was done about 100 years or so after his death and Resurrection.

That's not a woman. It's John. Men had long hair in Bible times & that's just da Vinci's idea of what he looked like.

In college, I double-majored in pre-Med and Art History, so please, for the love of God, listen to me: DaVinci wrote notes around one of the sketches he made before he painted the Last Supper. If you look closely, you can see the figure sitting next to Jesus is labled "John."
End of story. Can we PLEASE move beyond the DaVinci Code?

In Da Vinci's day it was conventional to show young men as what we could call 'effeminate'.

I know that everyone will probably complain but just look at these sites, the second one clearly shows that it is infact a WOMAN! Yes, woman not man, that is seated next to Jesus!
