As another oficiant, I ask you to look at it from another way. If someone has never met you husband and all they see is his picture in another couples album. Does he look more marketable with or without them?

When he is performing does he look good and comfortable in them and squinty and uncomfortable without them?

You only have one chance to make a 1st impression and every ceremony is 200 people who may have work for him or not. How does he come off best?

All that said and all factors taken into consideration. He should do what works.

On a side note I have seen officiants with pictures of themselves in sunglasses on their websites and personally it isn't something that I myself would do.

My younger sister had a beautiful, classy wedding out by a pool at a country club. I know for a fact the officiant, the groom, the groomsmen, and my dad (who escorted her down the aisle) wore sunglasses. I also know there were pictures of my sister and her husband, in full tux and formal wedding gown, both wearing sunglasses, but I don't remember if she wore them during the ceremony or not. It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding, but that little quirk made it uniquely theirs, and it didn't seem out of the ordinary.

It's your wedding, so work out with him/her whether sunglasses are appropriate or not. If you don't want the officiant to wear sunglasses, you'll need to provide a canopy or situate the party in such a way that the sun doesn't glare in his/her eyes.

No, I wouldn't mind if the person conducting the wedding out in the sun wore sunglasses...or anyone else in the wedding party.

Of course not. My dad was a Deacon and performed marriages, though none outside. However, for outside blessings, etc. he would sometimes wear shades. And the classy part matters not.
Just a p.s. - make sure they are not the "reflective" kind.

I'm sure the bride would prefer pictures of your hubby wearing sunglasses then pictures of him squinting and making faces due to the sun being in his face.

it is your wedding ceremony day, you ought to positioned on the Kilt, with a lot of affection and being concerned this may be your one and only time to positioned on it at your wedding ceremony. Years from now you do not opt to have any regards about your wedding ceremony day. I had a really price white gown at my wedding ceremony, boy did i think over dressed on the court homestead. besides the indisputable fact that, searching back i love theory that I did what i needed to on my wedding ceremony day, I appeared great! perfect needs and Congratulations!

Of course not. The officiant needs to be able to read from the marriage book, and they can't do that if there's too much glare in their eyes.

I wish I could wear sunglasses for my own wedding ... lol ... if it's bright out and everyone else is wearing them ... I don't see any reason why he can't ... it wouldn't bother me one bit ... but then again I live in Southern Cali ... so everyone wears sunglasses everywhere ... !

It's really up to you, but I think a Minister of any religion or faith should look the part and help honor the saced vows that are being taken.
