had supposed said in the Bible???
What is your point by reprinting the entire bible in this site for answering simple questions ?
This a Q&A site, not a church of some kind. All we want is YOUR PERSONAL OPINION, not a story from dead people.
If you put these quotations, it means you cannot answer anything on your own, Reading the bible DOES NOT mean understanding the bible and the true meaning of it.
Anyone who is taking the bible (Old and New Testament) literally word for word is really a brainwashed person.

So, does that mean if you asked a medical question, that it wouldn't be wise to cite Gray's Anatomy?
Or if you asked a legal question, to cite the Code of Federal Procedures?
Asking a Biblical question without being allowed to use the bible to quote from isn't very fair, is it?

I agree its not necessary to reprint the Bible here in a forum where most folks don't really know what the Bible says. However, I believe referring to scripture by book, chapter, and verse and letting the asker read it for themselves carries far more authority and credibility. Additionally, I don't want some ignorant's opinion on such important matters. Why would you?

Okay.
Yes this is a Q & A forum. So, what is your question exactly other than a rant?
You are also in the Religion and Spirituality section; the questions posed generally within this area are Religious based--if you don't wish to participate there are other sections within YA! that do not utilize the Bible.
Please move on somewhere else if you have blood pressure problems.

Based on this question/diatribe, I'm guessing that scholarship is not one of your long suits in the card game of life.
In order to support a statement, there are times when a writer needs to quote from an appropriate source. In this case, if you are asking a question about God, Jesus, or Christianity, that source is usually the Bible, since it is the foundation of our beliefs. This is particularly true in the case of doctrinal issues which have their basis in Biblical teaching.
The use of appropriate references has nothing to do with originality of the thought that they are supporting -- merely that the person is validating their opinions with outside sources. And the choice of reference material is the author's decision, not that of the reader.

And if you were asked about your opinion regarding the age of the universe and the origins of mankind, you shouldn't quote scientists or Darwin? I asked for YOUR PERSONAL OPINION, not a story from some snooty scientist.
The only people with original opinions are children. Adults tend to learn from (and take for granted) what other people say.
Religious folk may happen to really believe what they're repeating. If they do, then it really is their opinion, even if someone else said it first.
If you can't take honest answers then maybe you aren't asking honest questions.

Bible quoting is usually pointless, and that's a scripturally based argument..
The holy spirit is (allegedly) needed to 'understand' the bible, and non-christiansdo not have the holy spirit. Therefore it is at best pointless to quote the bible to non-christians. Bible quoting should be reserved only for other christians.

Christian believers have decided we accept the Bible as truth. How each and every individual came to that decision will vary but, none-the-less, it is what we believe. That's why we refer to it. You'll have to reconcile that somehow before you'll be able to understand.
If your question is "how is it you accept this as truth" or, "how is it you came to accept the Bible as the truth", you may get some (if nothing else) very interesting explanations. Plus, we wouldn't misconstrue your genuine curiosity for intolerance or belittling. Your questions ARE out of genuine curiosity, right??

Well, I suppose because Peter, Paul & Mary was a really cool folk group. Of course I personally haven't seen a reason to quote them here.
I have on the other hand observed that people would be wise to go here:
