Don't listen to the person who said that they are aggressive. Any cat can has the potential to become aggressive because of their wild ancestry. That's why we must always be careful to treat them with plenty of love and kindness.
Siamese are wonderful cats. They are extremely affectionate. But they do tend to be pretty active, so take caution and don't leave things laying around that can be easily broken. They are also, as someone else pointed out, "talkers".
If you do get one, it would be great if you refuse to support pet mills by adopting from a breed-specific cat rescue.
By the way, yes, I share my home with a male Siamese. He's quite the character. He loves to watch television and play with shoe strings. One particularly funny thing he does: He drinks water with his paws.

I have had two siamese cats. One we got when I was just 8. She was the greatest cat ever. She would cuddle all the time, wasn't a talker. Was never agressive. She was very gentle and accepting of everything. She would let a little 3 yr-old pick her up by her skin on her legs and didn't do anything.
I just got a new siamese kitten (my last one went missing) and she is vocal. But it's only when she wants her food. She is very energetic.. but really funny. She really likes to cuddle.
I think from both of my experiences, I will probably always have a Siamese cat. They are definitely not the most aggressive cat out there. They get very attached to one person, but they do like the rest of the people that visit/and or live with.
I say go for it.

I have two...Baby, who is my icon, and Miss Heidi. Baby is a very spoiled boy, and tends to eat my arm off when he's unhappy. Heidi is a little girl, and very loving. I have had several wonderful Siamese friends in the past, notable are Sammy the Siamese who lived with my friend; he was a real lover. Would sit on you and purr (and drool) as long as you'd pet him. His bro Spootie was just a knee tumor. He'd get up there and hang on. Siamese are about the most loving cats you can find, but more to the point, you can get one from the pound most times and while it won't be a purebred, it will be a loving, sweet cat who desperately NEEDS a home. Both of mine are rescues, You can get a siamese cross or mix cat who looks and acts like a real meezer, and doesn't cost a fortune, too, so unless pedigree is important to you, go that way, and save a life, please. Check out meezer.com, or come to my 360 and chat for more (if you need it, lol, I do run on!)

Hello there,
I for one would say get a Siamese they are delightful, my fellow is a beauty or should I say handsome but not only that very loving and friendly he can be so affectionate as and when you want to give love, he is very well behaved but a bit greedy he tries to eat the other mogs food (I have five other cats but mixed breeds) the only downside is he miows very loud when he wants food (mornings) and on occasion is sick because of being a piggy, finally he does cast all year round so be prepared for brushing off hairs before anyone visits.
Hope this helps and good luck with your new Siamese should you decide to get one.

I have a flame point Siamese. Eli is almost three years old and he is the sweetest kitty! When I adopted him at 8 weeks, he was very sick. It took me a few months to nurse him back to health. I think that this definitely affected his personality. He is a large kitty (12 pounds), but he thinks that he is still a baby. He loves being picked up and cuddled. He is extremely friendly with people as well as the other kitties in the house. I cannot even explain how wonderful his personality is! He is a little talker and he loves getting into things he shouldn't.:) Meezers are fantastic cats! I would totally love to have another flame point kitty, but I already have six cats, lol.

I have a mixed breed siamese cat, and he is very affectionate. His name is Yoda, and he is a Momma's Boy.
I have had him since he was a couple of weeks old, and all of my friends have tried to steal him (when I go on holidays, there is a battle royale on who gets to cat sit)
He's not as vocal as a lot of siamese cats, but when he talks to you, he has so much tone ni his voice, it's almost like he is talking to you, which is great when you are just sitting at home and want the company.
Siamese cats are great, but they do need a lot of love. They are stubborn, so be prepared for that too!

Hi--I don't have a Siamese, but I have a Burmese (yep, they were once crossed with Siamese). I have to tell you that, although I always loved Siamese and actually wanted one at one point, too, the Burmese blows me away.
I have a female Burmese, and she's 1 year old. She's almost like a dog--loyal, constant companion, very trusting, loves people, loves my other animals (she relates better to my dogs than to my cats even though she was raised with both), loves to play, loves to snuggle...
OK, I really love my Burmese...can you tell???
The main complaint I've heard from Siamese owners is the loud yowling sound the Siamese make. The Burmese talk about as much as the Siamese, but it's not the loud yowl--it's more of a muffled yowl.
So, I don't mean to dissuade you against a Siamese, but you might want to check into one of the crosses if the yowling would drive you crazy.
A link about Burmese...

I have an 11 year old blue point siamese. His name is Master SingSing...LoL He is my baby. I got him from a breeder that must havew bred the bloodlines to close and he only has 1 tooth...They all fell out. Be careful if you are going to go through a breeder. He has the personality of a prince..LoL He knows he is important and if i dont pay attention to him, he will MAKE me pay attention to him...LoL He is totally lovable but completely skiddish and flighty. If someone is in the house he doesnt know, he takes off running... I would def recommend getting a siamese. They're not only adorable but totally smart. My cat opens doors, gets in my drawers and everything... He reminds me more of a dog, He was totally easy to train. If i tell him "NO" he listens immediately. He also comes to me when i whistle...He is awesome!!!
Good luck!

I would recommend you look into a Tonkinese. It is part Siamese and part Burmese. Best breed every. They describe the breed as part dog, part moneky and part elephant. They act like a dog - play fetch. The fly around like a monkey - acrobatic and when they run sometimes it sounds like an elephant. The tonks are medium in size. They will talk and are very trainable. My cat will sleep under the covers with me at night. She greets me at the door and loves to play. It is recommended that there be at least 2 cats in the house because the tonks are social. They need someone to play with when you are NOT there.
Good Luck:)
