I'm a 28 year old single mom, raising a 5 year old boy and need change. I'm sick of LA traffic, and want to own a comfortable home. I love the city and don't want to move to far from it either. Can't afford anything too extravagant, I have an associates in Business, and a certificate in accounting and I know that won't get me a home here in LA county! I hope someone can give me some good suggestions, I could really use it! =) Thanks!

huntington beach in OC is totally affordable. i love that city its the perfect place to raise a family. surf city!

if you want to stay north try somewhere north of malibu like my friend lives out at port hueume and it is so georgous out there - its not too far away from the cities but there are grassy hills in the background still. good call. good luck.

Not too far from the beach is about an hour, right? Try Brea, Lake Forest, even those are pushing it though. If your budget isn't at least near $800,000 for a home, you're going to have to move way inland towards Palm Springs or up north. Try lease-to-own?

Gee Mari you are asking an awful lot...I can not think of one place between Santa Barbara and San Clemente that is near the beach, is family oriented and is also affordable....I think generally house prices tend to go down the further you are from the beach and L.A.
Is it possible for you to come up with another scenario??? Maybe something inland and away from the big 3 cities...???

From knowing a lot of people in that area I think your question would have fit better into JOKES S& RIDDLES.

Even before you threw in the one about "not far from the beach" that was an impossible dream.

You would need to be away from the beach in an area so remote that working via telecommuting would be the only possible job. That could actually work out for you.

Good luck with that. Nothing in CA qualifies as affordable. And near the beach?
