I say that about myself from time to time. What I really mean by it is I've made bad choices when it comes to men. If I think I'm making a better choice, it turns out I was wrong. I've been on a 5 year hiatus from dating and am now returning. Because of my past history, I don't completely trust myself so I'm trying to take things slow and see where they lead.

I'd say she was in a position similar to mine...that she hadn't recently met anyone with whom there was a mutual desire to date.
