This is a follow up on my earlier question. If God will not forgivr me unless I forego my sinful gains, what should I do with that gain. To be precise, if I've stoeln somebody's wife - and that theft was planned, I aslo used my position of trust. The couple ended in divorce and I was the party that cause the divorce. I pray for fogiveness. I keep the woman. If I don't keep her, isn't that being selfish?

NB. This is a true life story - and I am the victim! A Catholic priest has stolen my wife - or should I say my wife has slept with a Catholic priest and we are now going through a divorce!

One cannot ask God for forgiveness and not repent (turn away from the sin). God's grace is for those who seek and follow His will. Not our own.

Christians are known by their love. Love is caring about someone enough to not hurt them.

O.K. you are the victim. What is your part in all of this?
God will judge the sins of others, you have only yourself to be concerned with here.

Since your wife comitted adultery, you are free to remarry.
The priest likely will no longer be able to be a priest..or will move to a life away from people. The wife..who's to say?
God will most certainly forgive eveyone involved, if they repent of their sins.

How about you start by ceasing to refer to your wife as property.

Your wife is a person and has the same amount of responsibility as the priest, because she was equally guilty of the betrayal. She should have been honest with you and told her your relationship wasn't working out and she was leaving.

Each one of us will be judged by God after this life. Each of us will be resposible of its own action, either good or bad.

If you have done the right thing, that means Biblical, then you are safe. And God will not leave nor forsake you. Your good works will not be in vain in the eyes of God. Let God chastise them.
