In a magazine it says to impress your company at a bar, or in your home, order or make a cocktail drink thats appropriate for the establishment and the season. What does this mean, how can a drink be right for a certain season? What drinks are appropriate for what season? For example what kind of a drink is an autumn drink vs. a winter or summer drink?

Winter drinks are usually hot, mulled wines or coffe/cocoa based. Ciders are generally autumn drinks. Frozen drinks and tropical drinks are summery.

Who drinks eggnog in the summer?

Who drinks gin bucks in the winter?

As for the establishment, if it was a fancy restaurant, I wouldn't order a drink like a Vulcan mind probe, and if it was a red neck, biker bar, I wouldn't order a drink with an umbrella in it, I would get a beer.

Some drinks seems more suitable to the season and some are more suited to different locations.

Think of what flavors/foods are popular for each season. For fall, for example, try maybe an apple cider martini or something with a cinnamon flavor. For winter, think Christmas Party drinks. For example, hot totties, peppermint drinks, etc. I can't think of much for spring and summer, sorry. I'm definitely a beer person in warming/warmer weather (usually that's a year-round thing, actually, but it's especially true in the warmer months).

I dont really know the true etiquette of which drinks are best when but I would say that drinks like Margaritas, Pina Coladas and daiquiris or anything with tequila or light colored liquors for that matter are good for warm weather while mixed drinks containing dark liquor like Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey and such are good for cooler or cold weather! Hopefully this helps. You can also check out some recipes here: http://www.drinknation.com/

Cool months one might desire warm drinks...hot toddy, irish coffee, and the like.

Warm months, frozen drinks are nice and refreshing.

Drink what you like...I drink my faves (like margaritas and bushwackers) all year 'round.
