It's their country and they hate us, they will never stop fighting us or themselves until we leave first. FYI an insurgency has never been defeated by an occupier. Our people are dying for nothing, pull the plug, slowly or not , just pull it

The day the first body bag was filled we were committed to stay. Please don't believe what you see on T.V. The people over there (for the most part) need our help. We were given a mission - To set up a stable government and to train an army that could defend that country. This mission has not been completed yet. If we pull out now it will be a sign of weakness and the attacks on this country would be horrible to witness. We promised to help these people and if we don't we deserve to be destroyed.
I am a Veteran of Desert Shield and Storm, we were allowed to obtain our objectives. I have 2 sons in the current conflict and pray every day that they will come home alive. I don't want my sons in harms way but I know what it will cost if the mission is not completed.
If you want the war over tell the Politicians to butt out and let us do our jobs.

Yes, they should either stay home or come home. They have no business being diplomats. That is what the president along with the executive branch is intended to be. Bring home the troops, and move the white house and congress to the green zone of Baghdad. They would find a solution in minutes, if they were forced to live there.

All our soldiers should stay home and never be shipped overseas ever again! Every time they come home from an overseas assignment they bring disease and injury with them! It just has to stop immediately!

My hubby is currently deployed to Iraq for the 2nd time in 2 years. And as much as I'd love for him to not have to go AGAIN next year... I have to say, the troops need to stay. Whether we like it or not, most of the country was 100% behind Bush when we went in, and now we need to stand behind that decision and finish what we started. If we pull out now, we'll either end up fighting them on our own soil, or going back AGAIN and for a much more difficult war later on. Why tease us with bringing them home, only to have to send them back again?

They wouldn't "come home" if we retreated from Iraq.
That's a feelgood myth.
They wouldn't deploy overseas as often, but they would still do so.
Not to mention reactive deployments to the Middle East if a retreat from Iraq proves to have dire consequences for other nations in the region.

To make it plain and simple -- They need to come home. You didn't see Bush sending his Daughters over there to fight this war, did you? We didn't ask for this war. What ever happened to Bin Laden? He was the one we were after for the 9/11.

What is the POINT of bringing them home, I never understand civilians who constantly harp on with this bring the troops home, WHAT good do the troops do hiding at home ?>?? Why can you not let them get on with the job they are supposed to do. What are you going to do with them at home ?
The WAR is over there, The War is better fought on their ground than ours, what is it about that, that you people fail to grasp, its not rocket science. Honestly if you have no personal active involvment in the War, World War Three the war to protect your rights to live how you want. do me a favour and do not surrender on my behalf, the troops can only leave the war zone when we have WON and not before.
