The land of OZ stretches far and wide, It's pretty hot all year round up north, Darwin, Cairns, The Kimberley's etc, bout 30 to 42 decrees Centigrade, further south, say Brissy, Gold coast, 25 to 30 c most year round, further south of that, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, best time would be late August to mid November if you like cool nights and warm days. As for traveling companions, pop into your local backpackers and place a sign on their notice board, I'm sure you'll get a quick response.

Depends where you are going. Places like Darwin and Alice Springs are mad hot the whole year round. Sydney is pretty cold by Aussie standards between May and September, as is Melbourne and Adelaide. Perth has a good year round climate, and is still warm enough to go to even in winter. Places like northern Queensland can get drowned in the monsoon season, and bear in mind that in many places between December and April you won;t be able to go in the sea because of the box jellyfish (well you could but you'll die horribly, which seems to put most people off).
Flights are never cheap, so have a good surf. The Qantas website has good deals sometimes, and I got a 1 year ticket to Perth with a stopover in Bangkok for £600.
Good luck!

To travel to Australia, all the way through the year you can find somewhere nice to visit. Summer is always beautiful however during the school holidays everything will cost you much more so check out the websites below for the dates of the school holidays. You could save yourself hundreds, even thousands of dollars.
Travelling in Australia is pretty safe to do alone however have listed below a site where you might be able to find a travelling partner.

The weather varies enormously in Australia as it ranges from the tropical north to the temperate south with alpine weather on the ranges. Most of the big events in southern Australia take place in summer while in northern Australia winter is the time to catch them. You can look at Australia's climate in general or in detail on the Bureau of Meteorology site at http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/ You will find forecasts by following the links from the home page at http://www.bom.gov.au
To make the most of it, decide where you want to go and pick the time of year to do it. If you are going to Darwin/Kakadu, the Great Barrier Reef or Alice Springs/Uluru, go in winter - May to September. In the summer it is either too hot or too wet. April and October are fine at Alice Springs but if you have a late or early wet season you could be disappointed in the north.
Theer is still plenty to do in southern Australia in winter but it does get colder the further south you go.

Depends on what kind of weather your looking for. Adelaide Melbourne Tasi are generally cold. Perth and sydney are a little better. Queensland and Darwin are hotter. Our summer is from nov-jan. Its pretty hot in some area at that time and it a different hot in adelaide (dry - desert) than cairns (tropical - humid). In melbourne you can have all seasons in one day which can knock you about if your not used to it. For us it just makes us mad cause you can never really guess what to wear. I am bias toward queensland as thats where IM originally from its great up there in summer

weather wise - this time of year is beautiful weather especially in Queensland - far north Qld - not much rain around nice and green - still warm but not humid - this is when all the grey nomads come up north to escape the winter from down south - they come from all over australia to the north - now and in 3 months time is the best to travel around - try camping.com.au - to look for people whom may wish to travel
happy travels!
