I am very blessed because I have wonderful children. I have never had to discipline them.

Disipline is very important. It teaches your children right from wrong. As far as perfect children. I didnt know there was such a thing lol. My 18 month old can act up and when he does he gets time out in a chair in the corner. I stand there with him to make sure he doesnt go anywhere. He hates it. As far as spanking. I just spank him on the diaper (not hard) to get his attention so he will listen and know he is in trouble and not to do it again.

I think about how hard it is to be consistent when I am tired or busy or just plain worn out. At those times it is so much easier to yell, spank and in general not understand why your child is acting out. But then again I'm the adult and the parent and it is my job!

Discipline is very important. Without it, your child will not know right from wrong. Now there is a difference in beating your kids and disciplining them..

Counting to 3 forever. My family makes fun of the counting to 3, but I swear by it. You just have to be willing to do whatever you have threatened to do. If you wimp out, you are giving away all the power!

teaching and directing them toward being good people. showing right from wrong. explaining consequences. reprimanding for hurting others. sometimes taking away favorite toys, tv shows, priviledges. time alone in their room to think about what they've done. just a sampling :)

Alot of people say you shouldn't spank your child, but I completely believe in spanking. I usually try time-outs before spankings, but taking his toys and TV privelages are good forms of punishment too.

for my oldest(8) we take away priviledges like riding his bike and playstation. for my 3 year old, we pretty much do time-outs, which havent been working too well lately, i need some new ideas lol.
