I say mostly, because SOME christians think maybe God started Evolution to create his animals. If that was true why did he not start all over after the flood? Also, if there was no death in the garden of Eden then how could evolution exist? My point is this. Last time I checked school books were like 20 years behind most modern teachings. Schools just don't have funding. So kids are learning theorys about evolution that have been proven FAULSE in the last 20 years. Now these kids trust their teacher because he or she is an adult and most teachers should be trusted. So these kids are having there FAITH shaken by untrue teachings with out ever seeing the other side of creation idea. That GOD made us. The bible never changes, science does...all the time. So why not allow the bible to be taught in school?

In all farness, evolution is it's own religion started by a man.
SO my kids should learn HIS religion and not MINE???

There are lots of books which haven't changed since they were written. That doesn't mean they should all be taught in school. My diary from 5th grade hasn't changed. Maybe kids should study that.

Religious teaching should be kept out of school since not every religion follows the Bible anyway. If only one religion existed in the world, it would be more acceptable for religious teachings in public school. If you want to learn about the Bible and stay away from certain scientific discoveries or evolution, go to a Christian school. Nothing wrong with choosing that.

The categorization of plants and animals is acceptable by biblical teachings, which is the job that whatshisname started: to classify all plants and animals. This is by no means a sin. In fact, God COMMANDS Adam (ergo, Man) to name all the animals. As for noticing certain adaptations on animals that grew in isolated locations, (such as Galapagos and Australia), this pointed to another marvelous thing.

I suppose that if we were immortal, we would know the answer to these questions, but of course, we work within imperfections, and that is true also of those who think they can interpret the bible by just using "inspiration" and not actually doing any historical research.

(That is why there are such sayings as: "Take what ever he says with a grain of salt.")

The bible is taught in schools. Most schools have Religious Studies as a compulsory subject up to a certain year/grade, and in these lessons students get a brief education in most of the major religions and perhaps a little philosophy too.

In science classes the latest scientific theories are taught, such as relativity and evolution.

So I'm afraid I dont really see your point.

If you feel evolution has been disproven in the last 20 years, then I don't want you to have any say in what kids learn.

evolution is taught in science class because it is based in science. It is supported and tested scientifically to become a scientific theory (which is different then the common term "theory"). So it is as high as it can get. Creationism is taught in anthropology classes wince it deals with human beliefs and not science.

As a christian, I have not problem with teaching evolution. Evolution is science. I think the big misconception is that many christians feel that evolutionists try to answer the origins of life with evolution while there is no such claim in evolution theory.

I learned about a lot of religions and theory's when I went to school; though I don't agree with evolution, especially the way they taught it when I went to school I think. Learning about a religion or theory isn't the same as being told what to believe in my eyes and quite honestly I think it is important to know what is out there.

It should be taught as a theory and if you paid attention to current events they DO NOT teach anything unproven about evolution.. The untrue history of the bible should never be taught to children as there is not one thing in the bible that HAS been proved. We already lie to our kids enough with other fairytales and myths like the tooth fairy and Santa Clause.

Just because you call the bible the word of god doesn't actually make it so.

Religion and Science should be taught in school...

And evolution is not a fact, it is a theory,... you just need to teach the children the difference. Knowledge is a gift that needs to be developed. It is God's gift.

Here you'll find biologists of every faith. See what they have to say about the matter.

p.s. I think you religious people should have no say so what so ever in matters that pertain to reality. You see the world through bible colored lenses and assume that things you don't know about are false because they aren't in the bible.

I'll vote for creation theory to be accepted in classes the day you explain how Joseph is actually god, since his lineage is how Jesus is traced back to David. As a matter of fact, explain why Matthew 1 and Luke 3 DON'T AGREE on who Josephs father was, but both claim Joseph to be Jesus' father? Is the bible lying to you? Isn't Jesus supposed to be born of a VIRGIN?

i do not imagine believers are mendacity at the same time as they say God has proved Himself, I purely imagine they're unsuitable and base it on how they sense fairly than purpose witnesses. also it type of feels they don't have any mission understanding that is purely one God verses many, communicate with God as Him and recognize it really is the God of a particular faith. Gods are not any more genuine and could no longer be genuine without contradicting nature itself, although the theory of Gods and the emotions and movements those beliefs produce is what keeps human beings coming lower back for further.
