I think anyone that you perceive as a "foolish infidel" would be sensing your anger and judgmental attitude.
Since America has historically been Christian, most people's previous experiences of being the victim of religious bigotry coming from a woman with a covered head has been from Catholic nuns.
Thus the confusion.

Firstly because they themselves are not Catholic and love to judge all things Catholic, personally I have never met an angry nun, and thirdly are you always angry?
