All you have is my written word, my beliefs and my spirit in what I say. How would you prove that I don't exist just because I say I am.

You're right, no-one can prove that you don't exist. But the key point is evidence - and more importantly, sufficient evidence.

That a particular person exists does not require much evidence. After all, we have plenty of experience of people, and know that people on the whole exist: to say then that a particular person does not need more than a posting on an Internet board. That's because this is a fairly ordinary claim.

However, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Saying that a person exists is quite different from saying that an all-powerful, all-knowing entity exists, who created the universe from nothing, loves each one of us, and incarnated himself in his son Jesus, who was fully human and fully divine at the same time, who died but came back to life, etc etc. These are fairly extraordinary claims, and they have no evidence.

So, atheists will say: provide the evidence, and we will believe you. Until then we feel justified in our disbelief.

someone typed your message, and someone created the poster-name "lix." We don't know who you are or what your beliefs really are; and we don't even know if you are the creator of the "lix" account (passwords can be shared).

We we can assume a human of some sort typed your words, as that is more likely than a computer-glitch self-generating those words, or a chimp typing them randomly. Also, you appear to have a decent enough grasp of the written English language, suggesting either you are a native-born user or an ESL person who has achieved a strong grasp of grammar and spelling.

That's all the proof and assumptions we can make.

I have no reason to believe you don't exist. Granted, you could be an intelligent bot, but for now lets assume you exist and are human.

Now, lets now say you're speaking through someone else. Instead of you posting, someone else is saying "lix says ..." "lix thinks ..."
Ok, I could sort of accept that.

Now, lets say that person makes radical claims about you. "lix is god". "lix is perfect". "lix will judge humanity when they die".
Now I think that there is an element of fabrication in there. Afterall, anyone can make claims, but if they fall out of common human experience, then there is no reason to accept them as true without evidence.

Now say it's 4007 AD, but there are still these claims about you from 2007. There is no evidence to suggest they are possible, human experience shows that it is impossible, and there is plenty of time for fabrication, alteration and a whole host of other changes/additions/subtractions.
From this I would say "lix doesn't exist, or at least, not the lix described in these writings."

Well actually I dont and dont really care either.
But logically I see words, know this is an internet...a network of computer users and so logically it is safe to assume that there is someone such as yourself sitting at a computer typing away.
Funny though because if I couldnt deduce all this through logic then I would have to just have faith that there is a being typing random thoughts... and those thoughts would meaningless if not tied to a human brain.

Atheists look at evidence to prove you exist is easy ask you to name something only a human response would be able to. Atheists use logic and reason to make conclusions

Realistically, we can't prove you really exist - for all we know, you could be a bot. I guess one could assume even if you are a bot, that you have a programmer.

I think the question that needs to be asked - how do YOU know that you really exist? How do you know any of this is real, for that matter?

Atheists know you exist. Your words give them the knowledge of your existence therefore they believe you are one of the billions out there. If you had not shown your existence how would you demonstrate your existence to them so that they could believe in you?

because you written a stupid question. and its right there on screen more then your god can do huh? also, you can't mix your writings with the bible the concept just doesn't work, for a start the bible was written by followers of Jesus NOT JESUS him self just witness, i could easily say that Elvis Presley contacted me and told me to wright a biography about him you couldnt prove that he didnt ask me to do that. same as the bible just cause someone write about him does not make it all true.

They have as much proof you exist as you have proof of atheists here existing, or you would not be posing a question to them.

The burden is on you to prove you don't exist. Good luck with that.

This is the internet. We can't prove anything. If I saw you in person, I could poke you with my finger and assume that something most likely exists there.
