He's rocking himself to sleep. Get over it. It's not a big deal. After all, he is a baby. Just enjoy it while it lasts. In later years you'll be saying, "Remember when?"..

Why do you have a problem with him getting on all fours and rocking back & forth? Maybe that helps him relax so he can sleep. If he's two he's old enough to put in a bed but I would suggest a toddler bed or a bed with a safety rail so he won't fall out. If he's not hurting himself rocking back & forth then I wouldn't worry about that.

Relax, mommy. Lots of little kids do this; as some other answerers have said, it's a little comfort thing of his, a way to wind down and go to sleep. Actually, it's a positive thing. Some babies and toddlers have a difficult time getting to sleep by themselves -- which means their parents are worn out, trying various things to get them to go to sleep! Your son is fine, and he'll outgrow the rocking and be on to something else before you know it.

This too will pass; the rocking is just his way of putting himself to sleep. Don't try to stop it. Put him in a bed when he starts climbing out of his crib. We put the crib mattress on the floor for a while until the kids stayed on the mattress all night. Then we brought in the bed. I have 3 kids.

Why do you have a problem with him doing it? He's not hurting himself and to be honest most babies will get on to all fours and sleep. It's just a comfort thing for him and most babies - our son does it and he's 16 months.

My son is almost two and sleeps like that, kind of like a curled up bunny rabbit. If this is just one thing - not part of a list of odd behaviors, I wouldnt worry about it.

Is he autistic or have any other conditions? if not, it may just be a routine or habit that he has to fall asleep instead of sucking a pacifier or his thumb. You could try a big boy bed but I think he will still do it. I wouldnt worry about it.

Why stress when there's nothing to stress over.
Is it affecting his health?
Let him be, if that's what helps him get to sleep, let him. There are worse things.
He may be ready for a bed but I doubt this is why he rocks.
Take a chill pill babe.

it's his little trait, years from now you'll laugh at it. Don't stop him from doing it, it's his way of relaxing.. and getting to sleep.
