The FrostWire Team does its best to maintain good relationship with the LimeWire project. The FrostWire Team, all of whom are still members of the LimeWire open-source community, disagrees with LimeWire's decision to consider filtering content on the Gnutella network (LimeWire has not implemented this type of DRM technology into their client as of yet). However, we will continue supporting the LimeWire client development and do not wish to make fundamental or drastic changes to the LimeWire core itself. FrostWire will not break with LimeWire's design philosophy.

FrostWire, unlike LimeWire, will never offer a PRO version. The FrostWire project will always remain strictly non-profit without any bundled software, including advertisements, spyware, malware or any code outside the scope of the general network that can transmit private information. FrostWire will always remain Free as in both price and freedom.

In a nutshell - YES IT IS

Limewire is now a security risk, they were taken to court, and an order was made to make them report individuals downloads.

Frostwire is faster, has more features, is made by the bods who first made Limewire and has not been taken to court - yet

No, they use the same network, so the files are the same. Frostwire is free and has some extras, but use whichever you like.

Neither program in and of itself is any safer than the other. The "problems" do not come from the programs, but from the content of the files downloaded. A file downloaded through one program is just as likely to be infected as a file downloaded through any other program. Makes no difference.
