Honestly, I'm tired of Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses coming to my door and leaving there pamphlets under my door. If I wanted to know about there religion I'd go to their churches. (the Mormons have three in my super small town as it is). How do I get them to stop?

Well, I'm usually at work when this happens and come home to find pamphlets shoved under my door.I give one guy a ride (whose Mormon). He showed up once trying to get me to go to his church. I cant remember what I said as I just woke up but he hasn't bothered me since.

At times, a question such as this will elicit dozens and dozens of elaborate schemes to spare a householder an unwanted conversation with Jehovah's Witness door-to-door ministers.

All such schemes are a complete and utter waste of time!

Many of your neighbors have figured it out, and it's really quite simple:
1. Open the door
2. Smile (optional)
3. Ask "Jehovah's Witness?"
4. Receive affirmation
5. Say, "Thank you, but I'm not interested"
6. Gently close the door (slamming is rude, but your prerogative)

Please recognize that Jehovah's Witnesses are not primarily interested in converts, but in working to obey Jesus' command to preach (Matt 24:14; Matt 28:19,20). Each Witness congregation maintains a list of "Do not calls" in their territory, and conscientiously try to avoid calling or leaving literature a these addresses; one could ask the next Witness minister about getting put on that list.

There probably aren't any real good ways you can get them to stop knocking on your door. Many of the answers above would probably just get the police knocking on your door also. A sign of some sort, like the 'no soliciting' or 'no preaching' signs above might work. But there's a heck of a good chance they wouldn't. work. Our newspaper did a story about how Mormons are always 'knocking on people's doors'. And one of the instructions they recieved was about that.
Maybe if you put up a fence, and had either a good lock, or a mean dog.

The best way to learn what to do to stop JWs is to contact a synagogue and talk to the Rabbi.

Ask him how the ancient Jews got rid of the Christian Jews when they went from house to house telling their brethren that the beliefs, rituals, and holiday observances that they have followed for hundreds of years was no longer valid?

I’m sure they had ways to get rid of the Jews, who from their point of view, was a cult started by a Uneducated, Jewish Lower Class Carpenter, who was executed for cause by the governing authority. The only education he got was from his low class parents, Mary and Joseph. These followers were also uneducated Jewish lower class individuals, such as Peter, a failed fisherman, and Matthew, a hated tax collector.

Lacking any kind of education, let alone advance religious education, it was clear they were easily brainwashed into believing that the uneducated ex-carpenter was somehow the Messiah, which was clearly false as it was commonly known that when the Messiah came, he would destroy (Armageddon) the enemies of the true people of God, as foretold.

Saul of Tarsus, a highly educated individual in the religious arts, repeatedly proved they were a false religious sect and cult, creating their own scriptures (Bible) instead of relying on the Holy Torah, which had been used by the Jews for hundreds of years. Saul often stood by as the true believers of God stoned these so-called Christians for their door to door activities and spreading of false doctrine.

Now, I would not recommend stoning, but they may have had other methods that worked to stop the house to house work and the spreading of false doctrine . What worked for them against the Christian cult may work against the JWs. At least you will be in good company in doing so.

It might actually help to be courteous and talk to the next ones that come to your door!

Tell them that you're requesting them not to make any more visits on you. Some organizations respect such personal requests and make an effort to obey your desire.

Still, they will have to perhaps once a year verify that you still live there and verify that you still feel the same.

The problem that you should recognize is this: Are you living in a family? Do you have the right to deny others of your family the chance to salvation by asking such visits to stop?
That becomes something for your conscience to bear.

Even though their visits are objectionable to you, please realize that the work they are doing is done in obedience to God's command:

in India(especially in the cities n towns) no such problems exist.we are worlds largest secular democracy. Nobody will knock ur door in the name of religion n irritate u rather God will call u one day to his door step(he will knock the door of ur heart)n u will happily accept the invitation.
besides India is inexpensive as compared to the first world. So u may consider living in India if u r really so fed up

Well one simple thing is to ask us not to come again. Be honest and polite. If you wish you can contact your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and let us know that you do not wish to be visited by us. We try to respect the feelings of others. We feel that Jehovah gives ALL freewill so we of course have no right to supercede that right.

Study the Bible's True Word of God and then invite them in !
Engage in the true Word of God and maybe by God's Grace
you will help save them from their blindness . They will not be
able to use their man made book at this point , because the
truth will silence them . The children of the devil aways flee
when they are faced with truth and become exposed !!
Remember Gods great commission to us , so have faith and
walk by the spirit and you will not find Satan's flyer's anymore...
May God pour out His Grace and wisdom on you , Amen...

Put a beware of vicious attack dog sign up. Your right it shouldn't be crammed down your throat that just tends to give people a bad attitude about God and He is not to blame. Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

If a Jehovah's Witness comes to your door, hold a small American flag in your hand and tell them you'll listen to anything they say if they'll repeat the Pledge of Allegiance. They usually run like scalded rabbits. The one I always use is I tell them I pastor at such and such church (make up name if you want) and invite them to services. Usually shuts them up.
