the way i express my love to my family is by helping out with the chores at home, taking responsibilty of the welfare of the family, ocassionally buy them dinner so Mum can take the day off, when a sibling is over the phone quarelling with their partner, check on them to see if they're okay. By doing so, you're letting them know that you're there for them if they need someone to talk to. The ocassional declaration of "i love yous" to your family members don't hurt either. If you're a parent, walking in to your kid's room when you come back from work or before you leave work, and dropping a kiss on the kid's head lets them know that they are loved.

Friends-wise, it's a bit general and cliche. Be there for them when they've got no one else, visit them even when you don't have a problem; you don't need a reason to visit someone you consider a friend. The ocassional treats, personalized birthday gifts, etc., lets them know that you put in an effort to present your gift to them because you care.

Workmates. This is a bit tough because colleagues you're close with, you'd end up hanging out together on an off day. When that happens, they'd eventually fall into the friends catergory. Either way, when a colleague is having his last day, YOU organize the farewell party and make it a memorable treat.

Love for your family. Well, you can write a short letter thanking them for everything, or a short note just greet them "happy birthday" if that day is their birthday. To a friends/workmates. You can buy their favorite thing. Just a simple token to let them know that you really appreciate what they have done to you.

Love is not only an expression but also an assurance, tell them that you love them.

It's simply so you can say "I love you". If you can't say that so you can act that you love them for example you concern them, take care and don't do that they can be sad.
