this guy I am dating always says to me " I will keep in touch with you and see how your schedule is" "and don't be afraid to call me too" seems like I am chasing him and calling him most often and I don't like that. How can I change this?

In any relationship, you want balance. At the same time, you don't want to be keeping score. Are there reasons he does not call more often? Perhaps he has a busier schedule? How does he react when you do call?
Doesn't exactly answer your question but may give you some insight into the situation.
If you feel as if you are chasing him, back off a bit and see what happens. If he asks why, just explain you don't want to be a nuisance. See how he responds to that. If he always seems glad to hear from you and makes time to talk, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, you can either take the guy at face value & call him if you want or you can stop calling him & wait for him to call you.

If you feel like you're chasing the guy, then stop calling him. We're only getting one side, and very little info, but it sounds like the relationship is a bit one-sided.

Stop calling him, if he cares about you he will react. Or just tell him about that. Most of the questions I see here could be answered so quickly if people had more often the reflex to TALK about their worries. And if you relationship (whatever it is) can't resist it, then it wasn't meant to be!

Quite being the one that always calls.

If you called him last, it's his turn to call you.

If he doesn't call - find someone else to be with, he doesn't really want a relationship with you.

Stop. Wait for him to make the next move. While you're waiting get back out there.

This does not sound very serious relationship to me. He is only a transient, you need more committed one.
