Depends on the circumstances. The members of the State National Guard shooting team may at times bring their weapons home with them, these are target weapons and not their Combat weapons and NOT of the Automatic variety. They are usually M14 semi-autos and .22 caliber rifles and pistols. So technically, the weapons are assigned to the Guardsman and Technically they can bring them home under special circumstances so I guess if you want to be technical, you won the bet.

Not in the US military. BTW, the military doesn't call it a "gun". It is a "weapon." If you were in the Swiss Army, you would be required to take your military rifle home with you.

The males take their gun home every night.

OH, wait a minute. You mean their "weapon", right? No, that has to stay in the Armory.

No, the weapons do not belong to the soldier, they belong to the unit, and must be stored in the Arms Room under triple lock.

It depends, If you have a good armorer/Supply Sgt. and good overall leadership. There will be no way you will get that weapon home. However, if your leadership sucks. You will get that weapon home free. Just be ready for your impending court-martial.

"Weapons" are annexed in the U.S. military. That means checked in and out and locked down with guards.
