We were never consulted, multiculturalism is the biggest mistake made by the UK ever and it will change the great UK into a place resembling the places the millions of immigrants come from.

White Scots were made into slaves as well and transported abroad, factory workers in the UK and coal miners were slaves being paid in an old form of food vouchers.

We British should at least stop this tsunami now before it is too late

Decendants of Africans sent to America were the lucky ones. Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods, Will Smith, Cassius Clay - would they have had such good opportunities if they were born in Africa?
I'm not saying slavery is ok (it's not) but for a small minority it has worked-out fine.

They weren´t and slavery was wrong - just like enforced multiculturalism! We were however, the first civilization to abolish and actively enforce the abolition of slavery - The Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Africans (they sold their own kind into slavery) and almost every other society had slavery of one kind or another...we abolished it and the Royal Navy policed the coast of Africa inhibiting the transportation of slaves.

well said jk....it was wrong and should never have happened but it wasn't all evil Westerners doing the capturing of Innocent villagers. The British people actually took the bull by the horns and abolished slavery so why do people keep harping on like its all our fault. Lots of people were involved and of course the victims of these terrible events were not consulted but please stop trying to punish those not responsible!

What nonsense- how about you ask the Ghanians, the Mails, the Arabs, the Turkomans, the Senegalese and other Muslims and Africans who were enslaving and dismembering their own people centuries before the British arrived on yon heathen shores.

In his way Stalin grow to be yet another Hitler, and Stalin lasted longer in ability, and died of previous age, nevertheless in ability. Stalin grow to be to blame of Soviet Russia, a compulsory united states of america. on condition that that factor there have been numerous dictators to blame of international places which have had huge impact, e.g.Ghaddafi in Libya (small united states of america through inhabitants, yet enormous impact because of oil), Mao Tse Tung in China and Saddam Hussein in Iraq (oil, back, and look on the chaos in Iraq on condition that he grow to be deposed). no one can anticipate the destiny, yet i'd not be stunned to come across a dictator in an same position to Hitler at some time.

There were many people to blame for the slave trade. However, the one factor most people fail to mention and want to overlook is that they were sold out by their own race. There were "warring" tribes and often, many of the captured tribesman were sold into slavery by their captors (neighboring tribes).
