If it's just an internet relationship, keep it that way. Just giving him your phone number isn't safe. On the other hand, it's your life, do what you want. Talk about whatever you guys talk about on the computer, just talk about it on the phone. How your day went, what you did last weekend, stupid stuff. It will come naturally once you start talking to him.
