I mean, it is. I'm just wondering if anyone out there actually thinks it isn't.

It is very much not a victimless crime. Talk about screwing up someone's sexuality.

Yeah, I know. I know. You had someone tell you mean things in church when you where 8, so that screwed you up too. Also, I'm really a meanie for questioning why some people adore porn.

Just remember, next time you are watching that garbage, there is more than likely a drug addicted woman being taken advantage of by a bunch of guys for money. A woman who is a daughter. A sister. Maybe a mother.

People who watch pornography are kidding themselves if they think there is nothing wrong. If people didn't watch or buy pornography, particularly child pornography, then there would be no market for child abuse and sex slavery...

Porn is a part of a larger Sex Industry. I lived in a state where prostitution is legal. It's not moral there, but it's not punishable by the State either. In that environment, people tend to be more honest, and peaceful. In other states, if a man or a woman are seen in a immoral situation such as a porn-shop, or brothel, there family and career can be destroyed. Who are the self-righteous trying to punish? Is the Law a victimless institution? I understand that a criminal is not a victim when punished, but what about his family? If you're casting stones, please be more accurate.

We live with vices, that are impossible to cast out by legislation, or rhetoric. Porn can be regulated.

I am biased on this topic, as I drove a taxi in that State for many years. I took the money, and feel no shame because I never saw a man forced to enjoy himself, or a hooker that couldn't stop.

Except when I saw the sex-trade in the other forty nine states, where morality was the rule, and humanity was the victim.

Porn by itself is not immoral.
And I disagree with your statement that most are drug addicts working for drugs, etc. It is a very regulated industry which does a lot to make sure no one is abused. They do backround checks, counseling, etc all BEFORE anyone does a movie.

Porn is like anything else..it is fine in moderation but when you abuse it it becomes a problem. Same as fatty foods, sleeping pills, alcohol, tobacco and all the other things that destroy lives when all control is lost.

What i find very amusing is that for heroin, and all those other things it is a "nasty habit", "disease" and oh boo hoo and when porn is the case it is a vile product..like the person abusing it has no fault.

Porn is a $10 billion industry, and it isn't 10 guys spending $1 billion each....most normal people have some porn of some type and for the most part people watch porn, enjoy it , and have no expectation that nurses will just start blowing them, etc.

Again the material is not immoral..it is the PERSON using it that can become immoral

What is important here is the need for porn and understanding the reason for this need.
It is a fact that sex,drugs, alcohol etc, have a dark and addictive side to them, not everyone will become an addict but quite a lot do, no one sets out to become an alcoholic or a drug addict but it is all to frequent,and now we see the new phenomena of clinics for sex addicted people.
There is always a starting point for addictions and porn is certainly one of these starting points,young boys are susceptible to looking at porn long before they actually have thier first sexual encounter, unfortunately porn is greed driven and those who make money from it are truly the guilty ones.

No, I don't think it's immoral. I see nothing wrong with porn...okay with the exception of maybe snuff porn. You seem to think that everyone involved in that industry must by default be a poor drug addicted woman getting taken advantage of by a bunch of guys for money, that's not true. People who do porn movies do so of their own consent. It's up to them what they want to do with their bodies. Who are you to judge?

Also, what about gay porn? Would that be okay in your book? I mean after all, it wouldn't have any poor drugged out females in it!

Pornography degrades women, but so does marrying guys who gets drunk and beat them up. Adults have the freedom to make their own mistakes and then deal with the consequences.

The real problem starts long, long before an individual gets involved in porn -- the real problem is the message that society relentlessly and insidiously sends young girls every day of their lives: that they are valued for how attractive they are, more than anything else. It's a very slow and gradual minimizing of the female spirit that damages a woman's self-respect.

If women truly respected themselves they wouldn't degrade themselves in the many, many ways they do.

You know, some women like porn too.

I don't think porn is immoral on the whole, but I think a lot of the porn industry produces porn that degrades and abuses women.

But watching two people make love on a video like in the old-fashioned porn? Fine with me.
