ok, my friend at work said that god is omnipotent, but that doesnt make any sense. IF god was omnipotent he would have known what adam and eve were going to do and just send humans directly to earth. if god were omnipotent he would have known lucifer would betray him and therefore make it so lucifer had less power. If god was omnipotent there would be no antichrist ruling. if god was omnipotent there should be no heaven or hell only heaven. if god was omnipotent free will wouldnt override god
why do people say god is omnipotent, when that cant be true. If it is true than that means that god created hell for people to go to. if god was truly omnipotent, the creation in his image (humans) wouldnt be the most ignorant species on the planet

God is omnipotent, he lets us choose for ourselves, he does know what we will do, but he still lets us do it and learn for ourselves, he didnt create a hell for us to go to. Hell is anywhere not in his presence. If he took away our agency, by getting rid of the choice between right and wrong, we would then be robots. lucifer's plan was to force all of us to do what was right, then he would get God's glory. Christ's plan was to let us choose, then pay for our sins so we could return to God.

Do not misunderstand the Biblical understanding of God being all powerful. God can be all powerful without having to be in all control. Firstly, God did NOT know what Adam and Eve were going to do. He only knew 'all the possibilities' of what they 'might' do. Let's review some basic presuppositions firstly: God knows everything that is knowable or God knows everything about reality right now. The future is truely the future to God. God is in time not outside time. There is a past, present and future to God, just like us. Therefore, God did NOT know that Lucifer would betray him but he knew that he was capable of it. God trusted Lucifer to obey just like Adam and just like us. Heaven and Hell is basic justice because God is Just. Heaven is for the obedient and Hell is for the lawbreakers. Just like enjoying freedom is for rightous citizens and prison is for criminals. Also, God is secure and wise. Even with man's free will, God still can 'do His wonders' and come out with the 'upper hand', even when surprised. Look at God like the most wise 'Cosmic chess player' - He may lose a few moves along the way but because of His wisdom to compute all contingent possible moves He can safely predict the outcome and end up winning in the end. Free will often DOES override God but it doesn't make Him less powerful but only magnifies His power because of His ability to 'not be moved'. Your final presuppostion is incorrect: Man is NOT the most ignorant species but actually is the most intelligent. Have you ever seen a spaceship, satellite, vaccine, nuclear powered aircraft carrier, camera lense, virus program, developed by a monkey or other animal? No. Man is superior. That is why in Genesis, God entrusted man to 'have dominion over everything in the garden'. We are the leaders and will be held responsible to God for how we handle our stewardship with both 'creation' and our 'personal lives' as well. Hebrews 9:27 says, 'it is appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgment.'

What you have listed there are not questions about the "omnipotence" of God. They are questions about the "omniscience" of God - that means his ability to KNOW everything. You can have the ability to DO something, but lack the knowledge to know WHAT to do. These are all "knowledge" issues, not "power" issues you have listed.

But that brings up the question - is God "omniscience". Does he know what he is doing? The answer is "yes". Unlike us, he is able to see all the possible outcomes from where he is at any moment, and then make the right choices to move everything in the direction it needs to go.

With Adam and Eve, God know that they would fall. But he looked at the alternatives, and that was the best choice. What should he have done instead? Not make man? Make him only a robot instead of a free moral agent? Kill him immediately? Prevent him from sin (again and again as the option would not go away after one failure)? Nope. When He looked at all the options, the one He uses was the best.

His goal was to create people who served him by choice. So he had to give mankind the ability to choose - right or wrong. So that is what he did.

God is not only all powerful (omnipotent) but also "all knowing",

Yes he knew Lucifer would fall and so he made Hell For Lucifer, it was not the plan for man, but Hell is a place of total separation from God,

God loves mankind, and respects our free-will SO MUCH that if a Man Chooses to reject God during his life, God will Sadly Honor Mans Choice, and then when that person dies The choices that he made in his life will be set for eternity, including his choice to be without God, the sustainer of life
Yes he knew man would turn his back,

But to those who willingly choose to seek God, the Joy that it Brings God outweighs all the Bad things that also occur due to mans rebellion,

Free Will Does not Override God, Nothing does, but he has given us boundaries of safety to live in, or we can choose to cross, but only to our own detriment, this is called Sin, and we all have sinned, me included.

After all who are we to make the plans, we are only the clay and he is the potter,

Tell me this?... Did you choose what time and where you wanted to be born?

Do you get to choose when you will
Die? (only if you opt out intentionally, which is not a good option, as your a precious soul)

But you see my point. All we as fallen people need to do is seek
God, and seek his forgiveness, and confess that we can not do it on our own, and he will take care of the rest, He Loves you, and he can do ALL THINGS. and has given us his
Son to pave the way.

Just look up the the stars tonight, and see his power and vastness on display

First of all what God knows comes under His omniscience, not His omnipotence. As for free will overriding the will of God, this does not affect God's omnipotence, since we have free will only by His permission. If the sergeant asks the general "what do you want me to do", and the general replies "use your own judgment", does that lessen the general's authority?

God is omnipotent. OMNIPOTENT - can do all things
God created Adam and Eve as His companion. But they turned out against Him. He could have done anything to them. He also could've destroyed them. But His love was more for Adam. U see.....God doesnt like sin but He loves sinners. He loved Adam but didn't like the sin he commited.
He didn't make evil. Evil jus came thro Lucifer. Lucifer was first God's friend. But he thought too much of Himself. God has a plan for evrything and evryone. Its upto us if we go according to His plan or astray. His plan was Lucifer was to stay with Him but Lucifer went astray. So, He sent Lucifer to hell. God is so compassionate and gracious. He forgives those who ask Him for forgiveness, but those who dont ask forgiveness will go to hell. What can He do for that? Its upto us. Just becuz He doesnt propose strict rules for us, doesn't mean we can take advantage of that. He created us good, but we turned bad on our own. We can't blame Him for our sins.

I know this is an answer forum but man you ask a lot of question! LOL.

1 Corinthians 1:25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

Sometimes, it's difficult for us to understand certain things (even if you are a rock solid believer) In the end though, I think it will all make sense. God Bless!

Omnipotent means all powerful.
Omniscient means all knowing.
God is both.
There are reasons behind the things you have brought up.
It is good that you are thinking about these things.
It will be of no value to you to learn anything unless you have the willing mind to look for the truth, whatever it takes. When you think you have an objection, look for the answers, but watch out where you are looking for the answers.

You are correct. The omnipotence/omniscience of god is a logical fallacy when applied to the deity as he is described in scripture.

God is either all powerful and all knowing but unwilling to intervene and protect his creation from suffering. If such is the case, then worshiping him is pointless. He may as well not exist.

or...

God is all knowing but lacks the power to intervene and protect his creation from suffering. In which case he is not worthy of worship, since he can't do anything on our behalf.

or...

God is all powerful but unaware of the suffering his creation experiences and so cannot intervene on our behalf. If such is the case, then worshiping (ie: praying) will have no effect because god cannot hear the prayers.

That's because the Christian God doesn't exist. It's impossible for such a being to exist anyway, considering all the contradictions. What you pointed out is one of them. Imagine you're God. You see all the rape, sickness, torture, killings, and stuff cuz ur omnipotent. You'd puke over and over again. And yet he just sits there and says: eh well, u guys be good cuz IM COMING TO TOWN SOON. He can't be almighty too, ya noe. For example, if god can do anything, he can lie. but he said he can't lie. He can't create a rock so heavy he can't lift either. see where im getting?
