you asked out of respect, that was nice of you, but obviously he doesn't care that much if he has to think about it. if he was 100% against the idea, he would have said no immediately. You've been respectful, but don't wait your ex's time, maybe he likes having control over you in some way. do whatever feels right for you.

Right, whenver most guys do this, it means they are interested in more than one girl at the time. It's not about his best friend dating you, its more about, he had his eye set on another girl, and then you came into the picture. If you truly want him, go to him, and try to convince him to date you. If you do it right, and are smiley and flirty, it can come off as super sexy and he will definently want to go out with you.

Well I would outright tell him that if he has to think about it that much then maybe we should just be friends. Both people have to want it bad enough...
See what he says. I bet he turns it around. If not, you are better off.

How much does he really want to be with you if you have to practically convince him. If he really wants to be with you he would go out of his way and not have to 'think about it'. Sorry but thats what I really think.

I know it will be hard, but you must move on. Why would you want to waist your time on someone like that? It will only get worse. Trust me do not waist your time.

If a guy doesn't know that should tell you something. Move on and find someone who knows.
