I like getting on the elliptical. It seems to tone legs, arms & butt very well. You really should do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day. I set the elliptical on gluteal workout and it sets the incline very high & you can add resistance if you like. You can also get on the machine where you put some weights on it and put your foot in the groove and it goes in a backward motion for your glutes & butt. Not sure what it is called. Good luck to you!

I would skip the cardio and just lift at a moderate weight. You may lose weight at first because you are still burning calories. Don't be concerned by the number on the scale. Judge by what your body looks like. You may then gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. You can do any exercises you like to target the areas you want. Just do a weight that will cause muscle fatigue at about 12-15 reps and do 3 sets of each.

Your question is a bit contradictory. You say you want to 'tone' without losing weight. Well, the way the word 'tone' is used nowadays means exactly that: a decrease in body fat. Remember, weight and body fat are two different things. In order for to achieve any muscular definition, you must decrease body fat and increase muscle mass.

Weight resistance training is really the only way to tone muscle although it's more difficult with stomach. You really need a machine designed for that.

Eventually you will build muscle, which actually causes you to GAIN weight, not lose it.

If you want to tone up, I would definitely walk/run and lift free weights. If you stick to that religiously and tweak your diet, you will see results in NO time.

sounds fantastic enough to me lol, just opinion. hourglass or pear shape is a desirable shape for most women, enjoy your shape and be proud of your achievements, you lost 10 pounds!!! fantastic achievement so be positive about what you have gained not what you want.
