Because K stands for 1000 so 470 K Ohm is really 470,000 Ohm, divided by one million (a mega) becomes 470000/1000000..or .47

You are mistaken. 1 M = 1000k therefore 0.47 M is correct. IT is wrong to say 470 K ohm is 0 .00047 Mega Ohm.

0.00047 Mega ohm is 470 ohms.

470 k ohm is 0.47 M ohm.

1000 k ohm = 1 M ohm

The other thing would be 470 ohms, not 470 k ohm.

Not trying to sound like a tough guy, but about the only time I cry is due to death. I tend to become more pissed than upset over things. I guess I'm a very stereotypical male in that regard. Did Incubus of all people really just call someone else a sociopath and a psychopath?

470k = 470 000
1 M = 1 000 000

470k/1M = 0.47M

Just think of the k or M as a multiplier.
