Bananas are low in Saturated Fat, Cholesterol and Sodium. They are also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Potassium and Manganese, and a very good source of Vitamin B6.

However, there are about 105 calories per medium banana and most of those calories come from sugar. That will be the case with most fruits but remember that this is fructose, which is better for your body than sucrose.

There are other fruits that are better for you if you are dieting. Cup for cup you get fewer calories from rhubarb, watermelon, grapefruit, apricots, cantaloupe, strawberries, tangerines, oranges, or peaches. This is not a comprehensive list, just some of the most commonly available fruits in the US.

Bananas are not necessarily fattening, but they are high in sugar. Look for smaller ones when you are shopping, or eat just a half of one.
Fruits in and of themselves are generally high in sugar, and that is why you should probably limit them to only 2 to 3 servings per day. Load up on veggies instead, but make sure to choose those which are lower in sugar. Those starchy vegetables are the culprits like potatoes, peas, and some squash.

Well, i am certaintly not an expert on fruits..but from my knowledge bananas are definetly not fattening. Bananas give us more energy than from most fruits because they contain about 1g grams of carbohydrates each, so this is where most of the calories come from..now, i would not suggest eating 10 or 15 bananas a day though..because anything that we eat in excess could contribute to weight gain..except for water maybe..lol.hope i could help.

I'm not sure about the fat content, but the health benefits of bananas far outweigh the cost of cutting them out of your diet. They are a good source of fiber and good for depression, and a great source of energy. I've heard that 2 bananas can give you enough energy for a 90 minute workout. There are a ton of other benefits to them also. I would consider cutting something else from your diet if you are having a problem with fat content in your food. I'd cut milk first and use a calcium supplement before bananas.

Bread and pasta are still good choices. Just make sure they're whole wheat, full of fiber, and low on sugar. Breads and pastas are almost always filled with garbage like high fructose corn syrup. Watch out for that and any other unnecessary added sugars. Nuts. My favorite are the Cocoa Roast Almonds from Emerald. Peanut butter. Can be made into a sandwich (hey, I just told you about bread ;D), eaten with your apples, eaten by itself... Just watch for hydrogenated oils. You want to avoid them. Period. In everything. The fats in peanut butter are healthy, but you still have to watch out for the calories. Even healthy calories get stored as fat. Fruit smoothies. You don't need to add sugar. Just blend ice, fruit, and maybe some milk. Cereal is always good, like you said. And again, just watch for unhealthy ingredients. You want a high FIBER TO SUGAR ratio. (Way more fiber than sugar, basically.) There are tons of healthy, yummy snacks out there! Hell, I'm a vegan and still enjoy eating. Lmao. It's easiest to learn about unhealthy ingredients and watch for them when you're picking out foods to eat.

Well, if they are high in sugar and fat, it's a much better sugar and fat (seeing that it's all natural) than corn syrup, high fructose corn syurp, and hydrogenated oils found in commercial processed foods.

Yes, they are wonderfully sweet and healthy and generally cheap and highly nutritious.
