I don't believe in the death penalty, so I have never seen death as a punishment. I see death as a part of life--the last part for the person who has died and a painful part for those who are still alive. Death is necessary. We would have run out of room eons ago if it wasn't around.

Sin leads to death. I do not know where the Bible says that death is a punishment. Rom. 3:23 states that we are all sinners. We all deserve death because of sin, and we all will die.
Death, like other punishments, however, are things we would like to avoid!
When God made Adam and Eve, there was no death. Death came into the world when sin (disobedience to God) entered the world through man.
Thank God for His grace and mercy that those who have faith in Jesus Christ as Lord can be saved from the second eternal death in the lake of fire!

The Bible says, "the soul that sins, it shall die". God sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, to give his own life for our sins and pay the fine for our sins.
We can have everlasting life if we repent (turn away) from our sins and put our trust in Jesus. When you have repented and truly believe on Jesus as Lord and Savior, God gives you Grace, which is unmerited favor to the infinetely ill-deserving; your sins are washed away and God has forgotten them.
You must realize that you are a sinner, that you have transgressed God's Law, the 10 commandments.
If you are a normal person you have lied, stolen, looked with lust which Jesus says is adultery of the heart, if you have hated someone Jesus said you have committed murder in your heart. You must realize you are guilty, we all are, of breaking His Law, which is His standard of righteouness.
God commands all men every where to repent: because he has appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in RIGHTEOUSNESS (Acts 17:30,31)
It doesn't matter how good you are, the Bible says,"there is none that does good,no, not one". (Psalm 14:3)
You have to understand that a human definition of 'good' is not the standard God uses. His standard is the 10 commandments, we have all transgressed the commandments, this is why we must confess and repent of our sins and follow Jesus, if not, "the soul that sins shall die".
To better understand this you will have to open up your Bible, read it and study it, the truth will be revealed to you if you sincerely seek it out.

not exactly

yes, death is a result of Adam's sin... when Adam sinned he pulled the universe down with him and death entered a world that did not have death

mankind federally dies with Adam and although through Adam the ground is cursed so it would be no long easily be cultivated, but would have thornes and there would be toil in man's work... but GOd the Son entered this fallen world and wore the crown of thornes, and even entered death

entering death, Jesus displays the mercy and justice of God. He triumphs over death and we are saved through faith in His work, making much of God now and forever

death is not the end, nor is it necessarily a punishment. For believers on the other side of death they go home to a better place

Psalms 53:2-3 -- God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one.

Romans 5:12 -- Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned

Dear asker,

According to the islamic religion , death is a transition process from life to life , from the first and the little life which we live in now , to the last and the permanent life .

Allah (God) creates us in this life to worship him , and to examine us if we do good things or bad things. After that we die , then we wake up again in the Judgement Day , and according to our deeds we go to the Paradise or the hell .

So, death is absolutely not a punishment , but it is like airport - if we can say - ,we move or go from place to another.

Thank you

Death is a punishment for many reasons, I think even you can understand that, but for the believer it is also a beginning to a life that only we can understand.
God allows it because He designed it. It has a purpose even if we can't understand everything about it.
Why do good people die? I guess you would have to define "good". No one is good except the sinless and that excludes every one of us.

Death is a Reward, not a Punishment.

death is not a punishment... You are born to live and then die and god has a plan for every single person and if it's your time then it's your time..That's just the way it is. God has a bigger and better plan for the" good people" that die young.

Alot of People think alot of things (death, sin, sickness and disease, poverty, Hell, so on) are PUNISHMENTS from GOD.
They are not.
They are RESULTS of disobeying GOD and letting satan gain Authority over the Creation (Earth and Star System).
Hell was never made for Human Beings.
Disease was never suppose to afflict US.

These Things are RESULTS.
GOD can Tell you the Results of Things, that dosen't mean HE made it (or even wanted it to) Come Out that way.

Results.
Death is a Result of Adam Eating from that Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Simple!
Ditto..................
